The slotted plate is attached to or part of the object and the slot has a first part and a second part. The connector has a first end that is engageable with the tensile element and a second end that can be inserted into the second part of the slot and slid towards the first part of the slot to engage the first part of the slot. The retainer inhibits the connector from moving back into the second part of the slot once it is engaged with the first part of the slot. Such a connection can be used to attach a cable assembly to a seat basket to provide adjustable lumbar support.

The transconnector includes a male member, a female member, and a locking member. The male member has a body with a linking element (such as a hook) associated with the lateral end for receiving one of the fixation elements, and a projection extending from the medial end. The female member has a body with a linking element associated with the lateral end for receiving the other fixation element, and a cavity with an opening on the medial end for receiving a portion of the male member projection. The locking member adjustably and rotatably secures the male member projection portion in the cavity in order to accommodate different orientations and separation distances between the first and second fixation elements.

The type has a body, a packaging penetrating tip extending from the body, a liquid passageway extending from the tip and through the body for dispensing liquid from the package and a fluid passageway extending from the tip and through the body for admitting make-up air to the package interior. A cylindrical member of resilient material is positioned between the tap body and its penetrating tip and is insertable through the package wall in trailing relation to the tip. The resilient member is selectively compressed along its cylindrical axis to expand within the package and engage the wall to seal the orifice formed by the tip on penetration of the package wall and to secure the tap to the package.

The fastener can be a screw, a resilient or rigid wedge, or a chemically expansive compound.

A first, quick-disconnect latch member is located on the bed frame, and mates with a second, quick-disconnect latch member on the opposite end of each motor drive unit to support the motor drive units on the bed frame. The manual crank units have a coupling at one end, which releasably connects with the controller shafts to rotate the same.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to an oil damper fitting apparatus mounted in a car with the intervention of upper and lower rubber bushings receiving a load primarily produced by shearing stress and secondarily produced by the compressive stress. The upper and lower bushings are respectively disposed on the extensive and compressive sides of the oil damper. Each bushing is defined between a washer and a seat, the washer having an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the seat. The upper rubber bushing has a greater elastic constant than the lower rubber bushing and is initially contracted to half the stroke of shearing deflection, the lower rubber bushing being initially compressed to the full stroke of shearing deflection.

    Abstract: A coupling assembles structural members at least one of which has an opening and another of which has grooves extending along its outer surface. The coupling has two yieldably spaced body portions inserted within the opening of the one structural member. Each body portion has a claw which protrudes from the opening in the one member and is received in a groove of the other structural member. A fastener extends between the yieldably spaced body portions for moving the body portions until each claw grips a side of the groove in which it is received to assemble the structural members. The fastener also connects the structural member having the opening to the coupling and the claws and grooves have cooperatively inclined gripping surfaces for drawing the one structural member into firm butting engagement with the other when the claws grip the grooves.
