  • Patent number: 8342477
Abstract: A clam-shell bracket for defining a mounting flange on a structural member, such as a hydroformed vehicle cross-member or frame rail, includes a lower body featuring an integrated locating feature with which to preposition the bracket on the structural member, and permanently-attached male threaded fasteners with which to thereafter secure the bracket to the structural member. The bracket further includes a hinged upper body having slotted bolt holes through which the lower body's fasteners may freely pass as the upper body is pivoted into the assembled position, thereby reducing the time required for bracket installation. The use of fasteners on the both the hinged end and opposite end of the lower clamp body provides an improved clamping force about the structural member, while the improved clamping force cooperates with the mating locating features of the bracket and the structural member to improve the lateral applied load transfer therebetween.

Abstract: A sliding self-locking mechanism is located between a first linking element and a second linking element. The first linking element is movably assembled with the second linking element. The second linking element forms a receiving space and the sliding self-locking mechanism is located in the receiving space of the second linking element. When the first linking element is slidingly being installed with the second linking element at a predetermined location, the sliding self-locking mechanism movably locks the first linking element. The sliding self-locking mechanism can be implemented in large-scaled electronic devices having two modules. The first and second linking elements are individually assembled with a module for automatically locking two modules of an electronic device by a sliding method. It is convenient for the user to disassemble and assemble the modules, and maintain and package the modules. Its structure is simple and it only needs a small receiving space.

  • Patent number: 6394032
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for simulating static load of a connection to a ventilated rack of animal cages when at least one of the racks are not connected to a central ventilation system. Accordingly, the device assures that the ventilation system is balanced when one or more of the ventilated racks are removed from their respective air supply or exhaust drops of the central ventilation system. The device includes a pair of spring biased legs which automatically close when a rack is removed from the central air system. The legs have an outwardly curved shape at one end forming an opening between the first and second leg. In the closed position, ends of the legs are adjacent to one another such that the distance between the legs is reduced, thereby creating a partial obstruction to air flow in the connection which is identical to the static load created by the ventilated rack.

  • Patent number: 4407601
Abstract: An improved cross-arm brace for supporting a cross-arm (24) on a utility support pole (23) is described. The brace has two support members (10) which lie along the support pole (23), one on each side of the support pole (23), and between the support pole (23) and the cross-arm (24). The support members (10) are connected to each other by one or more connecting members (11) which cross the pole (23) over that face of the pole (23) on which lies the cross-arm (24). Adjusting mechanisms (12, 14, 15, 16) associated with the connecting members (11) adjust to decrease the spacing between the support members (10) and thus to firmly wedge the support members (10) between the support pole (23) and the cross-arm (24). More than one cross-arm (24) on a support pole (23) can be supported by a single brace. The brace can be used in conjunction with a grid gain.
