  • Patent number: 8500358
Abstract: A quick disconnect system including a matable coupling and post. The coupling includes a base, a pair of pins, a jacket and a biasing means. The base defines a longitudinally extending bore. The pair of pins are radially repositionable relative to the bore and extend tangentially along opposite sides of the bore. The jacket cooperatively engages the base and the pins whereby longitudinal repositioning of the jacket as between a first stop position and a second stop position effects radial repositioning of the pins. The biasing means biases the jacket towards the first stop position. The post has a flanged head on the distal end of a shaft for cooperatively engaging the pins to achieve connection of the coupling and the post.

  • Patent number: 8403589
Abstract: A paint gun assembly including a spray head and a connecting manifold. The spray head includes a bore terminating in a radially extending space of gradually increasing radius. The bore receives a shaft that has an axially extending bore which connects with radially extending bores in which balls are contained. The shaft also contains a plunger with a rounded end, engaging the balls. When forced into the axial bore, the plunger forces the balls into the radially extending bores and out into the tapered, radially extending space. The plunger engages a cam which is exposed at a surface of the manifold body and includes a hexagon drive to adjust the angular rotation of the cam using a suitable key. The manifold body provides a recess for receiving a retaining pin, whose end is received in the cam guide profile. Axial movement of the cam is resisted by a compression spring.

  • Patent number: 7641415
Abstract: An automatic locking ball coupler for a power take off includes a ball keeper connected to the power take off and having a longitudinal axis and openings in a cylindrical surface thereof. Locking balls are received in the openings and can move radially with respect to the axis of the cylindrical ball keeper. A ball collar is positioned around the cylindrical ball keeper and has a plurality of internal circumferential rings and recesses between each ring. The ball collar can slide axially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the ball keeper between a coupled position in which the locking balls are on the rings and an uncoupled position in which the locking balls are in the recesses.

Abstract: A quick-release coupler includes a rod having a first end for coupling with a pneumatic tool and a second end having a recess. A sleeve is slidably mounted around the rod and includes an end coupled with a bit. A ball is received in a radial bore in the sleeve and received in the recess of the rod to engage the sleeve with the rod. A spring is mounted in the sleeve for biasing the sleeve towards the second end of the rod. The ball projects out of the sleeve to engage the bit with the quick-release coupler when the ball is received in a first, shallower contact section. Removal of the bit from the quick-release coupler is allowed when the ball is received in a second, deeper contact section.

Abstract: A ceiling fan anchoring bracket and housing assembly for quick and easy installation of the ceiling fan housing for either hugger or down-rod fans is disclosed. The assembly comprises of hook-up pins and stationary lock-up pin fastened on and protruding from the anchoring bracket. The stationary lock-up pin latchingly locks the housing of the fan by spring or urging mechanism. The bracket and housing assembly enables the user to install the ceiling fan housing to the anchoring bracket without having to resort to using tools. All a user needs to do is to align and engage one side of the housing to the hook-up pins on the bracket and push the opposite side of the housing onto the stationary lock-up pin on the bracket through a spring action to complete the installation.

Abstract: A first tooling component is positively secured to a second tooling component by one or more quick change locking couplers each including a cylinder secured to the first tooling component and having peripherally spaced holes supporting balls for radial movement. A stud is secured to the second tooling component and has an enlarged head portion projecting into the cylinder. A cup-shaped piston surrounds the cylinder and has a recess for receiving the balls in a released position, and a housing supports the piston for axial movement between the released position and a locked position forcing the balls to engage the stud. A compression spring moves the piston to the locked position, and air pressure moves the piston to the released position. A proximity sensor is supported by the housing and detects the piston in the locked position to provide an electrical signal to a remote visual and/or audio indicator.

Abstract: A coupling mechanism includes column-shaped plugs having engagement grooves, cylindrical sockets movable to and from the plugs in the axial direction, slip-proof members which are engaged with the engagement grooves of the plugs to prevent the plugs from slipping out of the sockets and sliding cylinders slidably fitted to the outside of the sockets in the axial direction of the plugs to enable the slip-proof members to engage with the engagement grooves. In operation, first spring members always urge the sliding cylinders in a direction to engage the slip-proof members with the engagement grooves. When cams of cam mechanisms rotates, the sliding cylinders are moved in opposition to the urging of the first spring members, so that the connection between the display units is released.

  • Patent number: 7377137
Abstract: A barrel lock for locking various utilities devices such as valves, meters, or enclosures associated with the control or distribution of gas, water or electricity includes a shank with a single driven ball that can be forced radially outward from the shank to lock onto a cap-like retainer such that the utilities device is restrained between the retainer and an enlarged head of the shank. Preferably, only a single driven ball is used to concentrate the clamping force at a single point, thereby creating an exceptionally high clamping pressure. For even greater clamping force, an accurately and strategically positioned end stop allows a drive ball to push against the driven ball at an extremely shallow angle of attack while preventing the two balls from accidentally toggling over center and irreversibly locking up. The barrel lock has infinite variable adjustment in an axial direction to fit a wide variety of devices.
