  • Patent number: 9556695
Abstract: A debris barrier is installed and locked to the liner tieback extension. When it is time to check release from the liner before initiating a cement job the inner running string is lifted. The lock stays engaged to the liner tieback extension tube as the inner running string is lifted. In that manner the debris barrier remains in position during the lifting to determine release from the liner before cementing. After cementing, the inner running string is lifted further to eventually undermine the lock and capture the debris barrier to bring the debris barrier to the surface with the inner running string. The lock can be dogs or collets or the like. An inner sleeve or a lift sub with an upset can be the support whose axial movement beyond a predetermined value undermines the lock to release the debris barrier.

  • Patent number: 7901410
Abstract: An intramedullary nail and a targeting and/or nailing instrument includes a connector end which has an axially parallel projection which cooperates with an axially parallel recess on the hollow connection end of the nail. The engagement of the projection and recess fastens the nail under axial engagement on the connection end of the instrument in predefined rotational position on the instrument. A quick-fastener element engages in the connection end of the nail and has a first coupling element and the connection end of the nail has a second coupling element. The coupling elements are configured so that in a first rotational position relative to the axially parallel projection the instrument can be introduced into the connection end of the nail and in a second rotational position the coupling elements cooperate so that the nail is held axially fixedly on the instrument.

  • Patent number: 4139317
Abstract: A bearing locking assembly has a sleeve that fastens an inner race ring of an anti-friction bearing of either a ball or roller design to a rotatable shaft. The sleeve is split longitudinally, enabling the sleeve to be compressed radially for slipping axially within a bore of the ring. Upon release of the compression, the sleeve expands in diameter so that a central portion of the sleeve keys the sleeve axially in place within the ring bore. The sleeve, with the ring mounted thereon, slips axially upon the shaft. External cylindrical surfaces at the end portions of the sleeve are eccentric, and internal cylindrical surfaces at the end portions of the ring bore are eccentric. Angular rotation of the ring relative to the sleeve causes engagement of the eccentric cylindrical surfaces to tighten the sleeve about the shaft, while the concentric portions of the sleeve and the ring maintain the ring centric relative to the shaft.
