Patterned Patents (Class 404/42)
  • Patent number: 4681481
Abstract: As an article of manufacture, a construction element typically in a square configuration for its exposed face, or multiples thereof, suitable as a load bearing or decorative member or a facing or tile for a wall, floor, ceiling and the like, wherein at least one face of the element has a combination of five exposed surfaces, which surfaces interrelate and give varied visual effects by the interplay of light with the five exposed surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4627764
Abstract: The paving stone comprises a recess which divides the stone into an upper part having a smaller circumference and a lower part with a greater circumference. The lower part, having also a greater height than the upper part, comprises a ribbing or other vertically oriented interlocking means and the upper part can have the appearance of a natural stone. The shape of either the upper or the lower part may be chosen arbitrarily and independent from each other. The molding box for the manufacturing of such paving stones is made of two pieces joined together and comprises the corresponding recess. The lower piece comprises an insert for forming interlocking means.

  • Patent number: 4596729
Abstract: A non-slip floor mat assembly made from a plurality of rectangular shaped floor mat panels which are coupled together provide a mat with a number of improved safety features including non-slip, not dangerous to high heels and good drainage. Each of the floor mat panels is integrally molded with a plurality of parallel extending first elongate members on one portion of each of the floor mat panels, and a plurality of parallel extending second elongate members on another portion of each of the floor mat panels. The first elongate members extend in a different direction to the second elongate members and openings are provided between the elongate members. Parallel ridges with breaks between are provided extending in line along the elongate members to provide a tread surface, and cross members extend across and support the first and second elongate members positioned below the tread surface.

  • Patent number: 4572699
Abstract: A paving stone, especially a concrete paving stone, serving for the paving of gardens and parks, paths, etc., is proposed. So that the paving stone laid out in a continuous system gives the best possible natural appearance, practical handling is guaranteed and strength is provided to an unrestricted degree, the side surfaces of the paving stone are designed as plane surfaces, but the transitional surfaces between the side surfaces and the upper surface are rounded and designed in such a way that the limiting line which is visible when seen from above is curved. The lateral limiting line between the transitional surface and the plane side surface is also shaped as a curved line, that is to say the corners are drawn down. For universal use, there are various construction sizes matching one another and special corner stones or curved stones which allow space-saving laying in a composite structure.

  • Patent number: 4478901
Abstract: A floor mat construction of rubberized material including a base and feet of barbell-like configuration which extend integrally downwardly from the underside of the base for the support thereof in upwardly spaced relation on a supporting surface. A plurality of apertures the upper ends of which are of substantially hexagonal configuration, extend through the base to define a hexagonal honeycomb-like configuration in the upper portion thereof. The mat is lightweight but structurally efficient, the upper surfaces of the common walls between the hexagonal upper ends of the apertures providing durable scraping surfaces for a nonskid effect, and the feet firmly gripping the supporting surface therebeneath to resist creeping of the mat.

  • Patent number: 4436779
Abstract: A modular surface having an important use as a sports deck, and particularly for ball sports like tennis. The surface is built up of a number of generally square tiles in which the play surface is supported by a large number of support pegs intended to rest on an undersurface. The tiles are flexible so that the support pegs can remain in contact with the undersurface even if it is not perfectly plane, assuring consistent ball bounce. A special arrangement of expansion joints gears the ability of the tile to absorb expansion and contraction resulting from temperature changes to the geometry of the tile to: (a) keep the pegs on the ground even in the presence of temperature changes to assure consistent ball bounce, and (b) keep the play field itself from expanding or contracting without the need for anchoring it to the undersurface.

  • Patent number: 4080087
Abstract: A railless walkway for blind and visually handicapped persons is constructed using foot plates fastened to the ground. By feeling humps made into the foot plates, the blind are guided along walkways without the use of rails or canes. Variations in the shape and/or number of humps provide additional information as to walkway directions, such as turns, steps, stairs, rest areas, and the like. The foot plates are fabricated out of permanent, solid material and are either incorporated in the walkway during its construction or are fastened permanently to the walkway if added later.

  • Patent number: 3938904
Abstract: A plurality of portable road-type structures which contain a variety of differently shaped surfaces to simulate driving conditions which might be experienced by an individual driving a vehicle, for example, a motorcycle. The portable road-type structures are used as an educational tool for giving the driver the fundamental knowledge and technique for driving a motorcycle before he is exposed to actual driving conditions.
