  • Patent number: 9527552
Abstract: A boat lift with hydraulically or mechanically actuated arms which self-installs a fitted three-dimensional boat cover on a powerboat. The control logic of the system allows for cover operation only when the lift is raised. A spring-tensioned roller keeps the cover tight and self-rolls the cover on the roller when the actuated arms are pivoted forward. The roller is hidden behind the boat in ‘cover-on’ position. A slip clutch prevents the torsion spring from being over tightened. The forward position of the roller is adjusted by adjusting the hydraulic cylinder length. The rearward position of the roller is adjusted by limiting the retracted position of the hydraulic cylinder. A non-hydraulic embodiment actuates the cover when the lift is operated.

  • Patent number: 9352812
Abstract: A boat lift has flotation tanks positioned under sides of a frame of the boat lift. Water flow is regulated so that tanks fill relatively evenly to maintain a surface of the boat lift that is generally horizontal at all times. Hingeable connection of the boat lift to a bulkhead, along with lateral stabilization, participates in maintaining a generally horizontal attitude for the boat lift. Water is expelled from the plurality of flotation tanks by pumping water from the flotation tanks, allowing the frame of the boat lift to rise. One or more catwalks along the sides of the boat lift and connected to the bulkhead are also floating, but at a level that is independent of the boat lift frame.

Abstract: A pontoon boat lift features tanks adjacent opposite sides thereof with upper walls slopes upwardly in a laterally outward direction. In lowered positions of the tanks, top ends of the sloped walls remain above water for visual and physical guidance of the pontoon boat into a position placing pontoons thereof between the outwardly sloped walls and over submerged portions of the lowered tanks, thereby allowing subsequent seating of the pontoons on said sloped walls during raising of the air tanks to lift the pontoons from the water. Buoyancy control for raising and lowering of the tank is effected by controlling air and water content thereof. The tanks are arranged to trap sufficient air therein to keep the lift buoyant to prevent sinking without using legs to support the boat lift on the sea, lake or river bed. • Patent number: 8388265
Abstract: A watercraft lifting system includes a bunk rail assembly, an intermediate frame assembly, a base assembly and a ground support assembly. The bunk rail assembly includes a bunk rail coupled to a load distribution member. The load distribution member is received by the bunk rail such that the bunk rail may rotate by at least a limited amount relative to the load distribution member. The bunk rail may slideably receive a bunk cushion and form a channel therewith for sandwiching a rigid structural member (e.g., a board). The watercraft lifting system may also include contoured clamps that cooperate to distribute and transfer load between frame members. In one embodiment, the contoured clamps include parabolically-shaped inner surfaces.

Abstract: A boat lift apparatus includes a base having a first base beam and a second base beam and a moveable boat support platform having a first lifting beam, a second lifting beam, and at least one cradle support connected to and suspended between the first and second lifting beams. At least two first support struts connect the first base beam and the first lifting beam, and at least two second support struts connect the second base beam and the second lifting beam. When the boat support platform is in a lowered position the at least two first support struts are generally parallel to both the first base beam and the first lifting beam, and the at least two second support struts are generally parallel to both the second base beam and the second lifting beam.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for controlling a variable speed boat lift motor. The systems, apparatuses, and methods include a user interface for connection to a variable speed boat lift drive. The user interface transmits a signal to a variable speed boat lift drive that causes the variable speed boat lift drive to rise at a first speed set by a user through the user interface and lower at a second speed set by a user through the user interface.

  • Patent number: 8267620
Abstract: A boat lift with a rotatable head attached to a bracket securable with respect to environmental structure such as a pier which to be capable of lifting a watercraft from the water and while rotating thereof to a position above an adjacent area such a dock area. The lift includes a rotating head assembly having a mounting fin extendable into the interior of a vertically reciprocating mast. A watercraft supporting cradle is secured to the mast to be movable therewith and includes vessel support members for facilitating retaining of a watercraft thereupon. Vertical movement between the mounting fin and the reciprocating mast is facilitated by sliding wear pads positioned therebetween.

  • Patent number: 8251608
Abstract: A platform includes main transverse beams (“MTBs”), each supported by at least one hoist. It is determined whether a load on any MTB is different from the load on any other MTB by more than a predetermined amount. An MTB which has a load different from the load on any other MTB by more than a predetermined amount is selected and then vertically moved with respect to the other MTBs within a predetermined safety limit to transfer load between the selected MTB and the other MTBs while monitoring the loads on each MTB and the position of the selected MTB as vertical movement of the selected MTB proceeds. The monitored loads and position are compared with the safety limit; and the movement of the selected MTB stopped when either the desired load transfer is completed or the safety limit has been met.

  • Patent number: 8221028
Abstract: A boat lift includes a lift frame rotatably mounted to a boat dock. A lower trolley with a buoyant body slides on the frame. An upper trolley slides on the frame and is engaged by the boat as it propels itself forward onto the frame when the latter is in a boat receiving position. A linkage connected between the trolleys causes the lower trolley and the buoyant body to slide rearwardly underneath the boat to rotate the lift frame into a final docking position in which the boat is out of the water. The upper trolley is locked into position, thus holding the lower trolley in position through the linkage. The boat is launched by releasing the upper trolley lock, which permits the upper trolley to slide rearwardly, with concomitant forward sliding movement of the lower trolley that permits the frame to rotate and launch the boat from the frame.
