  • Patent number: 9889996
Abstract: An adhesive melter and a method for operating the adhesive melter enables predictive maintenance of an exhaust air filter used to remove pressurized air flow that delivers solid adhesive particulate from a fill system into the melter. To this end, the fill system repeatedly actuates to refill a receiving space, and a controller monitors a duration of each fill system cycle. When changes in a calculated average duration of a plurality of fill system cycles exceed a maintenance threshold, an alert is emitted at a user interface to prompt maintenance or replacement of the exhaust air filter before a complete shutdown of the fill system is caused by clogging of the exhaust air filter. Consequently, unplanned downtimes caused by clogged exhaust air filters in the adhesive melter can be minimized, regardless of any variable conditions occurring at the melter.

Abstract: Invention refers to the pneumatic transport field, namely to vacuum-pneumatic transportation of bulk materials of high mass concentrations. Summary of the invention consist in that the material delivering from zone under atmospheric pressure into zone under vacuum is performed, at that vacuum is created by alternate action of vacuum impulses from one of two or more vacuum receivers connected to continuous vacuum source in such a way that under vacuum impulse action from one of receivers it synchronically, for the vacuum action duration period, disconnects from continuous vacuum source and the following receiver connects to continuous vacuum source. Invention allows transporting the bulk material of high concentrations through pipelines of long distances and having the sections of changeable transportation directions (vertical, slope.

A freely pivotable panel member is hingedly mounted on the outer housing, the panel normally being in the open position thus exposing an aperture in the outer housing. When a conveyance cycle is initiated, a downstream blower initially draws air into the system through the aperture in the collector outer housing thus blowing inwardly particles lodged in the perforate inner housing. The negative pressure of the air being thus drawn in the system acts to close the panel member until the conveyance cycle is completed and the downstream blower switched off. The force of gravity then pulls the panel member back to its normally open position until another conveyance cycle is initiated.
