    Abstract: A drive multiplying device for simultaneous drilling of multiple holes includes a housing. A drive shaft is rotationally coupled to and positioned through a first face of the housing. A first end of the drive shaft extends from the first face of the housing. A plurality of second shafts is rotationally coupled to and positioned through a second face of the housing. A first terminus of each second shaft extends from the second face of the housing. A gear set is positioned in the housing and is gearedly coupled to the drive shaft as well as each of the second shafts. The first end of the drive shaft is configured to couple to a rotary tool. The drive shaft is positioned to compel the gear set to rotate the second shafts. Drill bits coupled to the first termini of the second shafts are rotated concurrently with the drive shaft.

    Abstract: A drilling apparatus designed used to drill multiple holes in the bottom surface of an overhead surface. The drilling apparatus includes a lower frame member and an upper frame member longitudinally aligned thereover. The lower frame member includes two vertical uprights perpendicularly aligned and attached to a lower base mounted on caster wheels. A cable attached to a winch selectively lowers and raises the upper frame member over the lower frame member. Attached to the upper end of the upper frame member is a perpendicularly aligned horizontal support member. Mounted on the support member are two or more drill brackets that hold inverted drill motors each with a drill bit at a fixed location and at a fixed angle. At least one drill bracket includes a horizontal alignment flange surface that is used as an alignment surface for a laser placed on the support surface and aimed upward to the precise hole location on the overhead surface.

A drive chain, belt, or other means carries a plurality of cutting teeth along a path defined by a series of chain guides. A lower plate, adjacent the surface being cut serves as a finer resolution guide for the cutting teeth to define their cutting path. The configuration and orientation of the cutting teeth causes them to push inward against the edge of the plate so that they follow its shape closely. A preferred shield encloses the teeth, chain, and drive mechanism for safety and to serve as a vacuum shroud for dust collection. The shield may also act as a guide, holding the teeth in position prior to the start of the cutting operation.
