Patent number: 12116892Abstract: A rebar hole doweling cart to construct or repair sidewalks, driveways, roadways, curbs, floors and the like. The cart has a frame with wheels, an elongated upwardly extending riser with a handle, and a nose plate that pivotally supports a drill mounting assembly near the ground. The mounting assembly holds an electric hammer drill and its bit in an aimed direction. The cart is rolled forward to tap a hole in a concrete slab and place the bit in a set aimed direction. The cart handle is then pushed forward to rotate the nose plate down into gripping engagement with the ground to advance the drill bit forward to form the rebar hole in the slab. During this forward handle rotation, the drill mounting assembly simultaneously counter-rotates (pitch pivotal movement) relative to the nose plate to maintain the drill bit in its set aimed direction.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2022Date of Patent: October 15, 2024Inventor: Joshua E. Patent number: 7226252Abstract: A hand held drill leverage unit for supporting, positioning, and leveraging a drill. The leverage unit has a main lever arm pivotally supported by a fulcrum unit. A drill end of the lever arm supports the drill, while an opposing, longer, handle end of the lever allows manipulation of the lever arm to control the position of, and to leverage, the drill. A user typically grasps the drill handle in one hand, the handle end of the lever arm in the other. Pulling the handle end away from the workpiece forces a leg or foot member of the fulcrum unit against a rear side of the workpiece or of another support member, making the fulcrum unit substantially stationary relative to the workpiece, so that further pulling of the handle end forces the drill end toward the work piece. As the preferred leverage unit need not be fastened or fixed to the workpiece or other support member, the user may quickly and easily move the drill and leverage unit to multiple drilling locations.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2005Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Inventor: Mike Glodowski

Patent number: 7220084Abstract: In order to facilitate and make more ergonomic the drilling of a multitude of holes in workpieces, particularly in the assembly of large scale components, such as an aircraft body, the power drill is docked to a support by an attachment which engages and locks onto a guide bushing or bore in the support. The attachment assures that the drill bit is precisely axially aligned with a hole to be drilled. The feed advance is performed by a leveraged action controlled by the operator. The leverage can be provided, for example by a Bowden pull cable. The attachment reduces the exertion to be made by the operator, thereby avoiding ergonomically unsatisfactory work positions.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2004Date of Patent: May 22, 2007Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventor: Juergen Otten

Patent number: 6264407Abstract: A portable electric railroad rail drill apparatus includes an elongated main shaft, a support frame, an electric drill, a clamp, a handle and a support leg. The support frame is reciprocally mounted to the main shaft for movement therealong between first and second ends of the main shaft. The electric drill is fixedly mounted to the support frame and reciprocally movable therewith along the main shaft. The clamp is mounted at a location adjacent to the first end of the main shaft for mounting the main shaft to a railroad track rail such that the electric drill is disposed adjacent to the rail and movable along the main shaft toward and away from the rail and is operable for drilling a hole through the rail concurrently with movement toward the rail.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1999Date of Patent: July 24, 2001Inventor: Randy J. Patent number: 6102633Abstract: A feed system for a drill press. The drill press comprises a base for supporting the drill press on a surface, a housing supported on the base and defining an opening, a telescoping spindle assembly positioned for movement relative to the housing along an axis and for rotation about the axis, a motor operable to rotatably drive the spindle assembly, a drive system connected between the motor and the spindle assembly, and a feed system for moving the spindle assembly between a lowered position and a raised position. The feed system is supported by the housing so that a portion of the feed system is exposed through the opening. The drill press also comprises a flexible barrier member to cover the exposed portion of the feed system. The feed system includes a sprocket rotatably supported by the housing and a flexible member movably engaging the sprocket and connected to the spindle assembly such that rotation of the sprocket moves the spindle assembly between the lowered position and the raised position.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2000Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventor: Nancy Uehlein-Proctor
