Patent number: 8740521Abstract: The present invention relates to a chamfer device for machining a weld bead surface, which specifically carries out a chamfering process on the welding bead surfaces of objects to be processed (such as metal sheet materials and pipes). In the present invention, immediately after a chamfering-amount-adjustment unit has been rotated and released, a position-setting pin is inserted into a securing recess in the chamfering-amount-adjustment unit, while the chamfering amount is adjusted in precise units and simultaneously locked at a predetermined chamfering amount which is automatically maintained, and the adjustment of the chamfering amount is achieved in a straightforward fashion with just one touch. When the chamfering-amount-adjustment unit is operated, a mobile cutter shaft moves vertically and as it does so the chamfering amount is adjusted in such a way that the chamfering amount can be immediately and rapidly adjusted while continuously operating without regard to any cutter rotation action.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2011Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: Daesung Golden Technology Co., Ltd.Inventors: Byung-Woo Jeon, Byung-Kwon Jeon

Publication number: 20100303569Abstract: A rotating tool includes a tool body, an outer cartridge, an inner cartridge and one or more setting plates. The tool body includes a pocket for the inner cartridge and a pocket for the outer cartridge. The outer cartridge has at least one cutting insert and a bolt through-hole extending toward a peripheral portion of the tool body. The outer cartridge is mounted on the pocket for the outer cartridge by means of a bolt. The setting plate is positioned to contact both the outer cartridge and the pocket for the outer cartridge. Screw holes for mounting the setting plate are formed on a side face of the outer cartridge adjacent to a rotating axis and through-holes are formed on the setting plate. This is so that the setting plate can be mounted on the side face of the outer cartridge by setting screws.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2007Publication date: December 2, 2010Applicant: TaeguTec, Ltd.Inventors: Eitan Gonen, Moshe Sharon, Min Gu Kim

Patent number: 6558089Abstract: A core drill extender apparatus comprises an extender tube that is adapted to make a screw connection to a driver, and a connector assembly releasably mounted in the front end of the tube for connecting the extender tube to a core drill. The connector assembly comprises a tapered mandrel having a threaded axial extension at its front end for making a screw connection to a core drill, and an expandable locking sleeve that surrounds and engages the outer surface of the mandrel. The sleeve is made so that moving it relative to the mandrel in the direction of increasing mandrel outer surface diameter will cause the sleeve to expand radially and into tight frictional engagement with the extender tube.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2001Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Inventor: Michael J. Patent number: 6514258Abstract: The stop element is set forth for solving a problem of the clinician only being able to visualize a depth marking on a drill bit or a similar tool. The detachable stop element limits the penetration of the drill bit beyond a predetermined axial distance on the drill bit. The stop element consists of a connecting portion and an extending portion, both having an inner wall defining a bore extending entirely through the connecting portion and extending portions. The connecting portion has a surface that contacts the drill bit for restricting the axial movement of the stop element relative to the drill bit. The extending portion terminates in a lower end for engaging the bone surrounding the bore to limit the penetration of the drill bit. The stop element may include a plurality of grooves for altering its length so that the penetration depth of the drill bit can be altered.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1999Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Assignee: Implant Innovations, Inc.Inventors: William G. Brown, Ralph E. Goodman

Patent number: 6162226Abstract: The present invention provides an orthopaedic instrument system and method for reaming a long bone to a predetermined depth. The instrument system includes an elongate reamer having a proximal portion and a bone contacting surface with an integral cutting element. A stop indicating sleeve having an axial bore and a stop indicating element is removably disposed about the reamer. The stop indicating sleeve may be provided with a stop element and a distal bone contacting surface. Reaming beyond the predetermined reaming depth forces the stop indicating sleeve proximally and urges the stop element on the sleeve into engagement with a stop engaging element provided on the reamer.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1998Date of Patent: December 19, 2000Assignee: DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.Inventors: Alfred F. DeCarlo, Jr., Patricia Katzman

Patent number: 5529442Abstract: A hole tapping device having a motor driven tapping tool with a bracing frame for resisting reverse torque on the motor frame caused by resistance of the rotation of the tapping tool within a bore being tapped. The bracing frame has adjustable arms which provide adjustment in the radial and angular direction and which clamp stationary protrusions on the workpiece with rollers to hold the bracing frame against rotation in both directions about the axis of the bore. The adjustments of the frame provide great geometric versatility. The rollers provide for a smooth translation of the motor and bracing frame along the axis of the bore being tapped. A single coupler and a series of inserts allow for a series of differently sized tap tools to be driven through the use of a single coupler.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1994Date of Patent: June 25, 1996Assignees: Power House Tool, Inc., JNT Technical Services, Inc.Inventors: Glenn F.
