  • Patent number: 7802948
Abstract: The invention is a drill bit extender and method that enables holes to be formed or screws to be driven remote from a drill motor. It includes a drill adapter for attaching to a drill bit, hole saw, or spade bit, for example. The drill adapter accepts a threaded rod, such as a segment of rod that is threaded along its entire length, where the length of the rod determines the distance that a hole can be drilled remote from a drill motor. The rod is readily attachable and replaceable to enable an operator flexibility in drilling at various locations remote to a drill motor. The rod is attached to a drill motor by a drill motor adapter, which securely retains the rod in the drill motor adapter, enabling the drill motor to drive the remotely located drill bit efficiently.

  • Patent number: 7748934
Abstract: A machine reaming tool includes a reaming head or interchangeable head (1) and a shaft (2), wherein the interchangeable head (1) is of one piece and may be exchanged, and in an axial direction and at each location, thus including means for the exchange adaptation, is thinner than a maximal thickness hmax, wherein this maximal thickness hmax is computed in millimeters from a diameter D1 of the interchangeable head in millimeters as hmax=6 mm+(1/10)·(D1?12 mm). On account of this, a guide portion (18) for cutters of the reaming head (1) becomes very much shorter than usual, but despite this ensures an adequate quality of machining. • Patent number: 7611311
Abstract: A cutting tool, and a loose top therefore, includes two parts detachably connected to each other via a threaded joint in which co-operating male and female threads are included in the form of helicoidal ridges. The profile shape of each helicoidal ridge is defined by a top and two flanks, which delimit a helicoidal groove having a bottom. The first flank is inclined in relation to a center axis of the tool at a first angle that is smaller than a second angle of the second flank in relation to the center axis. Accordingly, the thread ridge is reinforced in comparison with thread ridges having a symmetrical profile shape, whereby larger tensile forces than compressive forces can be applied to the threaded joint while avoiding damage to the thread ridges.

Abstract: A drill bit intended for percussive rock drilling is formed to reduce the occurrence of cavitation during percussive drilling. The drill bit includes an integral skirt and at least one channel for transport of flush medium, such as water. The drill bit has a front face provided with buttons, which define a greatest first external diameter (D0). A recess with a female thread, such as a rope or trapezoid thread for percussive drilling, extends into the drill bit from a rear end face of the drill bit. The recess has an axial depth (L0). The external surface of the skirt includes a conical portion having an axial extension that is greater than one-eighth of the depth (L0) of the recess but smaller than the depth (L0) of the recess.

  • Patent number: 7311480
Abstract: The invention describes a drill plate with a clamping attachment in a rotatably driven base body, which on one of its end faces forms a centering groove that is open towards the top. A clamping slot extending into the material of the base body is arranged at the bottom of the centering groove. The centering groove is bounded by at least two opposing mounting jaws, with at least two diametrically opposing stop faces arranged in the region of the clamping jaws for providing centering contact with the drill plate. The clamping attachment is formed by a mounting screw which clamps the drill plate in the centering groove. To improve transfer of the operating torque from the drill plate to the base body and to facilitate handling, at least two centering fins that are diametrically opposed with respect to the transverse center axis are arranged on the drill plate. The centering fins contact corresponding stop faces disposed on the corresponding clamping jaws of the base body.
