  • Patent number: 11953140
Abstract: A patch for a pipe includes a patch body that has an outer surface and an inner surface. The patch body is curved to correspond to the curvature of a pipe that may include a defect that is desired to be sealed. A plug extends from the inner surface of the patch and the plug is configured to fit within the defect while the inner surface of the patch is in contact with an outer diameter of the pipe. The patch is adhered to the pipe using a primer and an adhesive that is applied to the outer diameter of the pipe surrounding the defect, the inner surface of the patch, or to both surfaces. Attachment straps may wrap around the pipe and the patch as the adhesive sets to maintain contact between the pipe and the patch.

  • Patent number: 7083365
Abstract: The drilling apparatus of the present invention includes a platform and at least two independently adjustable members. The independently adjustable members position the platform relative to the structure such that the drilling tool is maintained in a predefined positional relationship to the surface of the structure. A portion of each of the independently adjustable members is in operable contact with the complexly curved surface at a respective contact point, and the independently adjustable members are capable of being extended by different lengths to the respective contact point in order to accommodate for the complexly curved surface. • Patent number: 5893686
Abstract: This invention relates to a housing having a shaft with a drill bit for tapping a pressurized fluid pipe. A saddle having a valve is attached to a pipe. A housing having a shaft passing therethrough is threaded to the valve. A drill bit is attached to one end of the shaft and a drill is connected to the other end of the shaft. The housing has a chamber in which the drill bit is retracted before connecting the housing to the valve. With the valve in the open position, the shaft is extended until the drill bit engages the pipe. The drill rotates the drill bit and cuts a hole in the pipe. The housing is sealed such that fluid entering the housing chamber does not escape along the shaft. The shaft and drill bit is then withdrawn into the housing chamber and the valve closed. The housing is then removed from the valve and a branch pipe connected thereto. The valve is then opened to fluidly connect a branch.
