Abstract: A horizontal drilling and milling machine having a spindle head which is rotatable about an axis set at 45.degree. relative to the horizontal. In the horizontal and vertical working positions of the spindle sleeve, the spindle head can be arrested via a support housing. In its horizontal working position, the spindle sleeve is rotatably driven exclusively by a spur gear system, and in its vertical working position is rotatably driven with the aid of a bevel gear system.
Abstract: A polar coordinate apparatus for performing an operation on a three-dimensional workpiece. The apparatus comprises an arcuate track having a rigid carrier member slidably supported thereon, such carrier including a motor for selectively positioning the carrier along the arcuate track. A radial support arm is slidably connected to the carrier and is provided with a motor for controlling the position of the radial support arm with respect to the carrier. Further, a working implement, such as a milling device, is connected adjacent one end of the radial support arm so as to be capable of engaging a workpiece. Advantageously, the radial support arm may also be rotatable with respect to its point of connection to the carrier, and the working implement may be rotatable with respect to its point of connection to the radial support arm.A workpiece is supported on a rotatable turret plate, and a motor is provided for rotating the turret plate, together with the workpiece, about a substantially vertical axis.
Abstract: An apparatus for original and improvement machining of the active surfaces of steer cams, mainly of brake spanners, in which the kinematic chain connecting together a work piece being rotation-safely clamped and a basic slide comprises a non-reversing free wheel, the external side of which being secured to the milling headstock. A unilateral claw clutch is coupled with the non-fixed inner part of the free wheel, the claw clutch being reversely operated with the non-reversing free wheel. A gear connectd to an intermediate shaft is in connection with one side of the unilateral claw clutch and elements are coupled with the gear, the elements transforming angular displacement to rectilinear displacement.

Abstract: A machine tool head having a spindle nutatable about a center at the front of the spindle and at or closely adjacent to the front face of the machine tool head so that the radial reaction to the cutting forces is transmissible from the spindle to the machine-tool head essentially in the plane of the front face of the machine tool head.
Abstract: A machine tool head in which a rotary spindle is adapted to nutate by virtue of the spindle being mounted in a housing supported to rotate about a predetermined axis and by virtue of the housing being mounted in another housing adapted to rotate about an axis which is inclined relative to the first axis. A train of bevel gears connects the spindle to a non-nutating drive motor and maintains a rotary drive from the motor to the spindle in all positions of the spindle.
Abstract: An adjustable guide for a tool holder for use in high precision machining which includes a housing, a guide seat located within the housing and a guide element movable with respect to the housing. A casing is disposed in the housing and positioned between the guide seat and guide element, the casing having a center portion and first and second end portions shaped to mate with internal surfaces of the guide seat and guide element respectively. Actuating means is provided for engaging the internal surface of the guide element with the second end portion of the casing. Fluid is delivered to the housing to support the casing when the internal surface of the guide element is out of engagement with the second end portion of the casing to permit displacement of the casing to a predetermined position.
Abstract: The present crankshaft milling machine comprises at least one milling unit which may be controlled in its feed advance drive by a copying mechanism operating in synchronism with the rotation of the work piece. The copying mechanism is movable back and forth along a guide extending in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the work piece along a guide. The guide for the copying mechanism defines a plane which extends substantially vertically on one side of the work piece or crankshaft and in parallel to the crankshaft axis. Each milling unit is tiltably supported on a tilting axis located below the work piece axis and extending in parallel to the work piece axis. The feed advance drive is arranged on the side of the tilting axis facing away from the work piece. The feed advance drive reaches over the work piece, whereby a closed force flow around the work piece is established and the milling forces need not be introduced into the machine bed.
Abstract: A wood working router which comprises a plurality of turret heads adapted to be selectively operated and each having a plurality of radially and outwardly extending tools and the corresponding number of motors for driving the individual tools, a mechanism associated with each turret head for intermittently rotating the turret head so as to move a selected one of the tools to the processing position each time the turret head is rotated, and a workpiece holding and releasing device for holding a workpiece on a sucking table by suction and releasing the workpiece from the sucking action.
Abstract: A universal type machine tool has a horizontal bed which, via a turnable intermediate slide, supports a rectangular work table, the slide being displaceable along the bed. A vertical column, displaceable along a bed perpendicular to the first bed has a second intermediate slide displaceable along the column and turnable around a horizontal axis. Its turnable portion carries a rectangular plate along which a foot plate for a drive unit is longitudinally displaceable. The foot plate supports a drive unit turnable around a horizontal axis and adapted alternatively to rotate a tool or a workpiece.
