Cutter Turning About Vertical Axis Patents (Class 409/229)
  • Patent number: 9039000
Abstract: A lift device for selectively adjusting a vertical position of a power tool relative to a working surface of a plate of a work bench includes a carriage assembly securable to an underside of the plate. The carriage assembly includes a securement mechanism selectively adjustable for interchangeably securing a plurality of power tools of different cross-sectional dimensions to the carriage assembly. A drive assembly selectively moves the securement mechanism upward and downward relative to the plate to adjust the vertical position of the power tool relative to the working surface when the power tool is secured to the carriage assembly. A drive-locking mechanism selectively locks the drive assembly. The drive-locking mechanism includes a cam lock for selectively engaging the drive shaft to inhibit rotation of the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 5067229
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing electronic components such as LED displays and hybrid IC's from a board supply frame. The frame comprises a parallel pair of elongate side bands, and a plurality of unit circuit boards integrally incorporated in the frame by means of connecting webs and arranged between the pair of side bands at a predetermined interval therealong. Various process steps such as chip bonding and wire bonding are performed with respect to the individual circuit boards while they are still in the frame. In a final step, each unit circuit board or electronic component is separated from the frame. The frame may be provided with an identification pattern to identify the type of unit circuit boards incorporated in the frame.

  • Patent number: 5024257
Abstract: A woodworking machine attachable to a table saw, the machine being adapted to readily accept and release yet securely hold a mounting plate on which a router is releasable secured. The machine includes mechanism which is manually actuated to effect controlled movement of the tool relative to either a rip fence which is selectively positioned on the table or a miter gauge slidable along a groove extending across the table. The rip fence or miter gauge is effective to prevent backlash and vibration of a work piece as one edge of the work piece is fed into cutting engagement with the router bit while the opposite edge of the work piece is in operative engagement with the fence or miter gauge.

  • Patent number: 4975005
Abstract: This invention relates to apparatus for trimming and shape cutting a hearing aid having a three-dimensional body of irregular shape and a flat plate-like member surface mounted against the body for forming an enclosure in which electronic circuitry is mounted. The flat plate-like member has a rim of excess material extending from the body of the hearing aid. The apparatus includes a framework extending from a base with a surface plate mounted on the framework. A rotary drive is connected to the framework with a tool bit extending through an opening in the surface plate. A guide member having a finger is attached to the surface plate with the finger extending over the opening above the rotary tools bit, leaving a space in which the rim of the flat plate-like member is placed for automatic removal.

  • Patent number: 4787127
Abstract: A combination woodworking machine for attachment to an electric plunge router, which may be configured as a horizontal boring and slot mortising machine, an overarm router and a router table. An x-y-z table is mounted on a column supported by feet, and a plunge router with its base removed is mounted in various orientations on the column by sliding it onto steel dowels mounted on the column. An electronic speed control reduces the router speed for boring, and an electronic digital readout provides accurate measurement of horizontal movement of the table.

  • Patent number: 4263947
Abstract: This machine cuts and profiles large panels, as plywood, hardboard or similar materials, on one side to provide a large panel having a flat back surface and a profiled front surface, said front surface characterized by a plurality of longitudinally extending, side by side, slightly inclined flat surfaces separated by approximately perpendicular ledges or shoulders of narrow width, thereby imparting to the panel the appearance of lap siding when applied to the exterior wall of a building. This machine comprises devices for moving the panel in a lengthwise direction and across a plurality of driven planer heads or routers, which cut away thin layers of the front panel surface. Also, the machine is provided with devices for shaping the edges of each panel for edge matching these edges with interfitting parts which may be of shiplap or tongue-and-groove type.
