With Work Immobilizer And Means To Activate Work Immobilizer Interrelated With Cutter Infeed, Work Infeed, Or Work Advance Patents (Class 409/256)
  • Patent number: 7402011
Abstract: A device for centering a work piece with respect to a centerline of a tool includes a radially-stationary component rigidly secured with respect to the tool such that the radially-stationary component and the tool are concentric. A biasing mechanism is biased away from the radially-stationary component to apply substantially equally-distributed radial force at a periphery of the work piece to thereby center the work piece with respect to the tool. A method of broaching a work piece having an inner and an outer diameter includes machining the outer diameter and then applying circumferentially-distributed radial force to the inner diameter or the outer diameter to thereby center the work piece with respect to a broach tool. After the applying step, the method includes broaching the inner diameter of the work piece using the broach tool.

  • Patent number: 4449872
Abstract: A fully automatic machine tool for simultaneously broaching parallel slots on a plurality of workpieces mounted on a rotatable table in which the table is indexed between a plurality of broaching operations to revolve the workpieces and hence to effect rotation of the workpieces about their own axes with respect to the path of broaching tools.

  • Patent number: 4274775
Abstract: A compound shuttle for a broaching machine having a pair of spaced parallel broach trains carried on a common slide reciprocable in forward and reverse passes past a work-piece mounted on a compound shuttle for positioning the work-piece into the path of a broach train during a forward pass, away from the broach train during reverse passes and moving the work-piece from axial alignment with one broach train into axial alignment with the other broach train upon completion of a forward pass.
