  • Patent number: 11433951
Abstract: A fastening system for fastening loads on vehicles includes a load slide arranged on and movable on a load rail along an extension direction. The load slide includes a fastening device for fastening a securing element and is lockable at different travel positions on the load rail. On the outside of the load rail a plurality of locking recesses are formed along the extension direction. The load slide includes a rotatably mounted cam, which is rigidly connected to an actuating element and which can be rotated with the actuating element between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position, the cam can engage with one of the locking recesses and thus lock the travel position of the load slide. In the unlocked position, the cam is disengaged with respect to the locking recesses and the load slide can thus be moved on the load rail.

  • Patent number: 8511951
Abstract: A strap hook retainer mounted alongside a platform retains the strap hook of a tie down strap for securing cargo onto the platform. In a first embodiment, the strap hook retainer includes a hook opening between an upright retainer flange and a lower flange in which the lower flange portion is offset outwardly in relation to the upright retainer flange portion to define a supporting surface which supports the strap hook when the tie down strap is slack. In a second embodiment, the retainer is mates with a mounting track of the platform such that the base of the retainer is slidable along the track. The strap hook is hooked onto a retainer flange spaced below the base to receive the strap hook therebetween. A stop flange below the retainer flange portion serves to support the strap hook when the tie down strap is slack in this instance.

  • Patent number: 8469643
Abstract: A two-piece anchor assembly has a retainer and an interlocking link. The link is a unitary component that is formed by a single forging step. The link is secured to the floor of a railway flatcar by the retainer. A steel band is connected at one end to a load bearing surface of the link of a first anchor assembly and at another end to a load bearing surface of the link of a second anchor assembly. A tensile force is then applied to the steel banding and crimped with a clip in order to secure cargo. The load bearing surface has an enhanced banding radius, which reduces the risk of band breakage when the steel band is subjected to a high tensile force by preventing “creasing” at contact locations.

  • Patent number: 8393838
Abstract: A side rail apparatus facilitates the securement of a load being carried on the bed or deck of a vehicle. The apparatus includes a side rail and a tie plate. The side rail has an upper horizontal member configured to be substantially continuous with the deck support surface when mounted to the vehicle, and a vertical member that is substantially perpendicular to the horizontal member. The vertical member has a horizontally directed recess formed in a top outer edge thereof to create a generally horizontal slot with a side opening through which the tie plate is received. The shape of the tie plate and of the slot is such that the tie plate, once inserted in the slot, is self-retained therein and will not disengage while the securement device is attached and tightened. In addition, the placement of the slot in the vertical member of the side rail effectively prevents material of various types from accumulating in the slot such that the side rail apparatus is ready for use with minimal preparation and effort.
