Member Fixed To Bolt Shank, And Member Or Bolt Fixed To Substructure Patents (Class 411/133)
  • Patent number: 9334651
Abstract: Roof systems and related method having a roof deck, a plurality of shingles, and a plurality of fasteners, having a material that partially changes state and displaces into the roof deck material to secure the fasteners and shingles to the roof deck. The shingles can be positioned in an overlapping pattern, and the fasteners can have first portions configured to penetrate into the roof deck and can have at least one material that melts at a threshold temperature. The first portions of the fasteners extend through one or more shingles and penetrate into the roof deck, where the material of the first portion of the fasteners increases in temperature above the threshold temperature, partially changing into a more flowable state, and displaces into voids in the material of the roof deck. Second portions of the fasteners engage the upper surfaces of the shingles to secure the shingles to the roof deck.

Abstract: A unitary carriage bolt that has nibs that will counter sink into a work piece to prevent rotation of the carriage bolt. As the nut of the unitary carriage bolt is tightened down the nibs are forced into any malleable surface. Once the nibs are totally counter sunk into the work piece the unitary carriage bolt cannot be rotated. The nut must first be loosened enough for the nibs to be removed from the work piece before it is rotational.

  • Patent number: 8308117
Abstract: Drywall mounting systems for accessories are shown and described. In one example, a system includes an accessory adapter plate, a fixation plate, a drywall fastener, and a second fastener. The drywall fastener is used to secure the accessory adapter plate to the drywall. The fixation plate is then secured to the accessory adapter plate with the second fastener, which, inter alia, prevents the rotation of the accessory adapter plate. Accessories can then be quickly and securely attached to the accessory adapter plate.

  • Patent number: 7959391
Abstract: An dry wall hand tool for a dry wall includes a pusher handle and a penetrating pin including an elongated pin body having a tail end portion protruding from the pusher handle and a sharp penetrating tip for initially penetrating into the dry wall to form a hole thereat in a tool-less manner when a rotational pushing hand force is applied at the pusher handle. The dry wall hand tool further includes locking arrangement including a retention pin slidably extended from the pusher handle at a position that the retention pin is spaced apart from the penetrating pin, wherein the retention pin is arranged for penetrating into the dry wall after the penetrating pin penetrated into the dry wall, such that the pusher handle is securely locked up by the retention pin to prevent the pusher handle being rotated to remove the penetrating pin from the dry wall.

  • Patent number: 5020951
Abstract: An improved fastener assembly (10) for securing a rocker arm cover (11) to an engine block (13) is described. In the preferred embodiment, the fastener assembly is comprised of a bolt (15) with an unthreaded shaft (15b) between a head (15a) and a threaded end (15c) along a longitudinal axis of the bolt. The bolt is in a slideable relationship within a cylindrical opening (19a) through a grommet (19) and a secured washer (17). Projections or interference portions (15e) on the unthreaded shaft adjacent to the threaded section and opposite the head, restrict the axial movement of the bolt within the grommet and the washer. While the rocker arm cover is being alilgned on the engine block, the bolt is in an up position with the projecting surfaces adjacent to the washer. Once the rocker arm cover is aligned, the bolt is threadingly mated with a threaded aperture (13a) in the engine block.

  • Patent number: 4763456
Abstract: An anchor and stress plate assembly adapted to secure an insulation layer to the deck of a roof without penetrating the lower surface of the deck which is formed either of relatively soft or hard decking material. The anchor is provided with a flanged head and a shank whose leading section takes the form of an auger screw having a root which tapers toward the tip and a threading about the root whose crests are of approximately uniform diameter. When the anchor is turned into soft decking material, the tapered root of the auger screw then acts to pack this material into a dense mass in the region surrounding the screw to enhance the holding power of the anchor. In hard decking material, a hole must first be drilled therein to receive the auger screw whose root when the anchor is turned in fits within the hole and whose crests then cut a thread in the hole wall to securely retain the anchor.
