  • Patent number: 11965535
Abstract: A screw includes a shank where a thread helix receiving groove winds around the shank and is disposed in the shank. A thread helix is disposed in the thread helix receiving groove where the thread helix has an expandable helix section. The shank has, at the thread helix receiving groove, a wedge flank for radially expanding the expandable helix section as the shank is moved relative to the expandable helix section. The expandable helix section has a helical back and a plurality of expansion fingers projecting axially from the helical back towards the wedge flank. The wedge flank of the thread helix receiving groove is configured for radially displacing the plurality of expansion fingers outwardly as the shank is moved relative to the plurality of expansion fingers.

Abstract: An annular seal member 2 is formed by overlapping, in the axial direction D1, a plurality of ring-shape parts 3 which are closed or unclosed when viewed in a radial direction D2 orthogonal to the axial direction D1 of the annular seal member 2. A seal groove 5 has a groove bottom 51 with an outer diameter R51 that increases along the axial direction D1. The inner periphery 22 of the annular seal member 2 contacts the groove bottom 51, and the inner diameter R22 of the inner periphery 22 increases as the outer diameter R51 of the groove bottom 51 increases. By this means, the outer diameter R21 of the outer periphery 21 increases, and the side of the outer periphery 21 of the annular seal member 2 that has a smaller outer diameter R21 does not contact the inner peripheral wall 61 of an inner peripheral wall member 6, and the side of the outer periphery 21 of the annular seal member 2 that has a greater outer diameter R21 does contact the inner peripheral wall 61 of the inner peripheral wall member 6.

A bore with an internal thread is incorporated in the shaft attachment and the shaft has a corresponding stem which can be introduced into the threaded bore and has an external thread. An axial stop is arranged on the shaft and on the shaft attachment. The internal and external threads have torque-transmitting flanks which are flat toward the axis and which can be connected to one another frictionally by radial pressure by mutual rotation of shaft and shaft attachment with interaction between the axial stops. Owing to the small angle between the load-bearing flanks and the axis, the radial pressure decisive for the torque transmission is correspondingly greater than in conventional threaded connections. As a result, the axial prestressing force between the two parts to be connected can be correspondingly reduced.

Continued rotation of the fitting relative to the pole advances the clip upwardly in the threaded section toward the more shallow portions of the groove thereby forming a friction fit between the expanding clip, the mounting fixture and the pole.

Abstract: An assembly for inserting an attachment coil in concrete with a screw having a releasable spacer and an expandable coil mounted thereon. The spacer initially positions the screw in a hole for location of the coil and has a slot to permit the spacer to pop off the screw as the screw is screwed into the coil in the hole. The spacer may have longitudinal ribs to bridge any lateral space between the screw and the hole. The coil has an exterior diameter less than the interior diameter of the hole for free movement of unexpanded loops without creating cross threading during insertion. A second coil can be inserted closer to the surface by assembling two spacers on a screw for location of the second coil, with both spacers popping off the screw as the screw advances into both coils. The use of two coils in a hole allows positioning of coils in both compression and tension zones on opposite sides of a neutral axis of the structure.

Abstract: A method and a device for attaching a rail on a timber support. The device includes a helically threaded fastener adapted to be screwed into a helically threaded borehole in the support after a rectangular metal insert is positioned in a rectangular opening at the periphery of the borehole. The borehole is sufficiently large that the fastener only contacts the timber support via contact with the insert. The rectangular opening is longer than the insert so that there is radial play between the insert and one end of the insert. The other end of the insert is adapted to contact a sloped side of the thread of the fastener. As the fastener is screwed into the borehole, the sloped side of the fastener presses the insert parallel to and perpendicular to the screwing axis of the fastener. As a result, the insert elastically expands parallel to and perpendicular to the screwing axis. Because the expansion perpendicular to the screwing axis is less than the radial play, no radial forces act on the timber support.
