  • Patent number: 7344346
Abstract: A bolt and nut structure has a bolt nail, a nut nail and an elastic tube. The elastic tube has several outward plates, several convex blocks, a convex edge, and an elastic gap. The edge of the elastic tube has a ring hook. Inward plates on an inner side of the elastic tube will slide along a planar surface of the bolt nail but will engage an oval surface of the bold nail. Accordingly, the elastic tube is first placed in an interior space of the nut nail, an objected is then clamped between the bolt and nut nail, and the bolt nail is rotated 90 degree to fasten the object. The bolt nail can also be rotated 90 degree in an opposite direction to loosen the bolt nail. Therefore the bolt and nut structure are very convenient in use.

  • Patent number: 6702535
Abstract: A friction stir rivet is rotated and driven through a first fusible workpiece into an engaged second fusible workpiece, causing local portions of the first and second workpieces to plasticize. A slideable cap contacts the exposed surface of the first workpiece shortly after the process begins. The cap acts as a retaining element limiting plasticized material from escaping during the process. As the rivet is further driven into the members the cap slides up the rivet and actuates an angled stirring member to increase the stir radius around the body of the rivet. Once the rivet is driven into the first and second workpieces, rotation is stopped and the plasticized material cools and hardens around the rivet, creating a weld joining the workpieces and encompassing the rivet, which provides additional mechanical strength.

The wall portion has, on its outer side, a projection which together with the head flange bounds a jaw by means of which the fastener may be inserted into the part to which it must be affixed. The projection opens on account of the deformation of the wall portion and frees the part and the fastener from each other. The device may also include means to cause the deforming force from the outside.

Abstract: A screw grommet with which an externally threaded member is threadedly engaged in a state in which the screw grommet is inserted through an attaching hole formed in a member to which the screw grommet is to be attached. An externally threaded member is passed through a head having a through hole, and the head abuts against the member to which the screw grommet is to be attached. The externally threaded member is then inserted through a leg which projects from the head and is inserted through the member to which the screw grommet is to be attached. The externally threaded member is threadedly engaged with an internal thread member. A pair of pawls are formed on a part of the internal thread member and are, together with the internal thread member, inserted in the leg in a state in which the diameter of the pawls is reduced. When the internal thread member approaches the head, the diameter of the pawls is enlarged in such a manner as to clamp the member to which the screw grommet is to be attached.
