According to the above constitution, the loosening of the nut can be prevented to stably maintain the earth performance of the vehicle body.

A safety edge surrounds the square bearing plate. The safety edge may be a rolled edge, a looped edge, a folded edge, or another comparable edge. Also disclosed is a method for making the mine roof and rib support system.

The slider washer bearing, thereby, functions as a thin spacer between the component and base plates, enabling high preload tightening of the bolted assembly while also enabling relative uni-directional alternating motion of the plates. The slider washer includes at least one mating groove arranged unidirectionally and extending horizontally between the top and bottom flexure plates. The grooves provide a guide for relative alternating back and forth unidirectional motion while the full strength of the bolt remains available to support the component plate without allowing high friction shear forces.

    Abstract: A barbed light weight concrete fastener and plate comprises a fastener with a head and two bendable legs. Each leg has a barb and a bump protruding therefrom. The fastener is pushed through a base ply and into a roof deck of cementitious material. The legs diverge to capture a concrete wedge between them. The barbs dig into the concrete wedge to increase resistance to a pullout force. The bumps create pressure points with the cementitious material that further resist pullout. A plate may be interposed between the fastener and the base ply. The plate has a number of openings therethrough of relatively large area. The openings are filled with plugs of asphalt that adhere to the base ply. Pulling of the base ply is resisted by the plate acting against the shear areas between the asphalt plugs and the base ply.

    Abstract: A fastener for securing built-up roofing membranes used to waterproof cementitious roof decks combines the conventional nail used for this purpose having a head and a shank portion designed to resist withdrawal of the fastener from the deck, with a non-integral tab penetrated by the shank of the nail and of larger diameter than the nail head, the tab having a design which allows the fluid asphalt conventionally poured over the nail during construction of the roofing membrane to bond the portion of the membrane beneath the tab and thereby increase the wind uplift resistance of the covering material. Removability of the tab allows its detachment in applications where increased uplift resistance is unnecessary.

    Abstract: An elongated channel member for supporting the surface of an underground rock formation includes a base portion with a bearing surface for contacting the rock strata and an opposite surface having a longitudinally extending central rib and flanged edges for resisting deflection and bending of the channel member under the load of the rock strata. A plurality of openings spaced a preselected distance apart extend through the central rib. A bearing plate is positioned in overlying abutting relation with each opening in the channel member. The bearing plate includes embossed areas and longitudinally flanged edges that are complementary in shape with the central rib and flanges on the channel to securely engage the bearing plate on the channel member. Thus, the bearing plate engages the channel member to restrain longitudinal and lateral movement of the bearing plate on the channel member and stiffen the channel member to resist bending.
