Flexible Washer Patents (Class 411/943)
  • Patent number: 8506224
Abstract: A fastener including a bolt and a grommet assembly attached to the bolt for fastening to a work piece. The grommet assembly includes an upper grommet, a lower grommet attached to the upper grommet, a retainer ring, and a housing that houses the retainer ring within the lower grommet. The upper grommet is inserted into a hole at one side of the work piece and the lower grommet is attached to the upper grommet through the hole at an opposite side of the work piece. The retainer ring is inserted into the lower grommet and encapsulated by the housing. The bolt is inserted into the grommet assembly, and the retainer ring engages the bolt such that a plurality of pressure pads extending from a plurality of corresponding spring beam elements of the retainer ring reside in an annular groove of the bolt. The grommet assembly captivates the bolt onto the work piece, while providing a positive hold out of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 5067865
Abstract: A method of feeding the discs to the automatic staple or nail gun includes the steps of providing a plurality of discs stacked atop one another, shuttling a first disc from the stack to a position normal to the staple or nail expulsion path, and retaining that first disc at that position until the staple or nail is expelled from the gun. The apparatus includes a shuttle which is moved from a position immediately below the stack of discs to a second position at which the disc, carried by the shuttle carriage, is grasped by a clip. The clip retains the disc in a position normal to the path of staple or nail expulsion. The discs have dimples protruding from both planar surfaces of the disc. The dimples are predisposed in a predetermined pattern such that the protrusions from one surface form a pattern which is non-equivalent to the pattern formed by the protrusions extending from the other surface of the disc. This dimple pattern is in a peripherally spaced band on the disc.

  • Patent number: 4957403
Abstract: A demountable pin for rotatably connecting together two elements of small axial dimension, consisting of a bolt with a frusto-conical under-head and an inner hexagonal through bore for tightening it by a key. The pin is locked between two frusto-conical flares of the elements by an end nut with a frusto-conical under-head and a washer with a frusto-conical surface of greater taper than the flares. The under-heads of the nut and the bolt cooperate with the flares.

  • Patent number: 4589797
Abstract: A fixing member in the form of a clamping disc having a radial opening, and being adapted to be clamped onto a shaft with the aid of a counter member having a coaxial opening is disclosed. Fastening means connect the disc and the counter member to one another so as to embrace the shaft when the shaft is passed through the openings. The clamping disc has a truncated and normally generally conical portion converging in a direction towards the opening, an outer rim, and an inner accordian-like annular portion integral with the outer portion. The inner portion has an inner rim and radially outwardly extending folds defining substantially flat portions between adjoining folds. The inner rim has a wave-shaped contour as viewed radially outwards. The disc is adapted to support the counter member near the outer rim thereof in an axial direction.
