Means Cooperates With Motion Of Vehicle To Reorient Load Body, Relative To Wheels, Into Load Releasing Attitude Patents (Class 414/383)
  • Patent number: 4904144
Abstract: A truck dumping and unloading apparatus which is operated by reverse truck motion and is adapted for mounting on a flatbed truck or a pick-up truck. The apparatus includes a single or double-member, open-top sled having at least a primary compartment adapted for containing trash, garbage or refuse, a sled guide mounted on the back of the truck for receiving a cable, one end of which cable is attached to the sled and a traveling block adapted for traveling on the opposite end of the cable and receiving a pair of tire chains or friction mats for deployment beneath the rear wheels of the truck. Operation of the truck rearwardly and traversal of the tire chains or friction mats by the rear truck tires causes the traveling block to traverse the cable and the sled to slide from the truck bed and dump the trash, garbage, bulk materials or refuse, reponsive to tension applied to the cable by the travelling block.

  • Patent number: 4717531
Abstract: A fuel transfer system for a fuel container (26) within a nuclear reactor facility includes a transport car (10) for transporting the fuel container (26) through a transfer tube between a reactor containment handling pool and a spent fuel storage pool. The system includes upending mechanisms for automatically pivoting the fuel container (26) from its horizontal transport mode to its vertical, fuel loading-unloading mode when the fuel container (26) enters one of the pools in response to the translational drive of the transport car (10). The upending mechanisms include slotted brackets (46, 146) mounted upon the fuel container (26), and pivotable pick-up bars (44, 144) for engaging the brackets (46, 146) of the fuel container (26).

  • Patent number: 4571205
Abstract: An express delivery playset includes an airplane, a delivery van, a loading dock, packages, a cargo transporter, and cargo containers. The plane has a conveyor belt for movement of the containers between a hatched opening at the fore end and the aft end of the substantially enclosed cargo area. Various packages carried by the van fit into the cargo containers and the plane, dock and transporter are adapted to receive the container. Off-loading packages from the van onto the dock is facilitated by a tilt-dump floor. A parallel linkage permits raising and lowering of the cargo transporter deck between the dock and the plane.

  • Patent number: 4480954
Abstract: A bottom dump arrangement attached to a body which provides a goods-holding space, the body resting on an undercarriage and including at least one pair of adjacent doors having remote edges, the doors being pivotally attached at their remote edges for swinging movement in a curved path transverse to the body and perpendicular to the remote edges, the free edges of the doors facing toward each other abutting each other in closed position of the doors, the arrangement also including guide paths that cooperate with the body to lift the body relative to the undercarriage, a linkage assembly pivotally connected between the doors and the body for permitting the body, when lifted by the guide paths, to become inclined to the pivotal axes for the doors in a vertical plane, which is parallel to the pivotal axes of the doors and perpendicular to the plane that the undercarriage rests on.
