With Means For Locking Roller Against Rotation Patents (Class 414/530)
  • Patent number: 12168597
Abstract: The present invention is a personal watercraft lift and transporting cart. In particular, the present invention is directed to a lift that can lift and rotate a personal watercraft (“PWC”) so that repairs can be conducted more ergonomically. The lift preferably has two lifting arms attached to upright frame members. In turn, the upright frame members extend vertically from a mounting base. The lift also preferably has two actuators pivotally attached to the lifting arms at one end and attached to the mounting base at the other end. When the actuators extend, the lifting arms lift and rotate. The transporting cart preferably has a cart chassis, a hull bunk and two receivers, where the first and second receiver are spaced to allow insertion of the first and second lifting arms so that the cart can be lifted and rotated by the lift with PWC mounted on the cart.

  • Patent number: 7475887
Abstract: A pallet jack having first and second turn radii includes a support frame having a first end and a second end. The support frame is positionable between a raised position and a lowered position. A main wheel connects to the support frame proximate the first end while a first extensible wheel connects to the support frame proximate the second end. The distance between the main wheel and the extensible wheel define the first turn radius when the support frame is in the raised position. A ground engaging device attaches to the support frame between the main wheel and the first extensible wheel. Positioning the support frame towards the lowered position, the ground engageable device engages the ground and the extensible wheel disengages the ground. The second turn radius is thereby defined by the distance between the main wheel and the ground engaging device, which is less than the first turn radius.

  • Patent number: 7427075
Abstract: A steering device for decreasing a turning radius of a pallet jack includes a ground engaging member connected to a support member of the pallet jack between a main wheel and an extensible wheel. The load supporting member of the pallet jack is positionable between a raised position and a lowered position. A first turning radius of the pallet jack is defined by the distance between the main wheel and the extensible wheel. While the extensible wheel engages the ground when the support frame is positioned towards the raised position, positioning the support member towards the lowered position engages the ground engageable member with the ground causing the extensible wheel to disengage the ground. The main wheel and the ground engageable member then define a second turning radius which is less than the first turning radius.

  • Patent number: 5478190
Abstract: A roll-off trailer or truck bed for hauling cargo includes a cargo controlling mechanism that allows for the controllable removal of the cargo. The roll-off trailer characteristically includes a plurality of rotatable rollers disposed transverse to the longitudinal length of the trailer. The cargo controlling mechanism includes a brake mechanism preferably associated with at least several of the plurality of rollers. When actuated, the brake mechanism retards, stops, or nonrotatably restrains rotational movement of the rollers in order to slow down or stop the off-loading of the cargo. Actuation of the brake mechanisms may be accomplished through hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, mechanical, or other means. Each brake mechanism may be separately controlled by the operator in order to selectively retard the rotation of the desired roller. Alternatively, a number of brake mechanisms may be linked together to constitute a group. A control assembly regulates the brake mechanisms of the group.

  • Patent number: 4986559
Abstract: A trailer wheel pivoting system having provision for pivoting of a wheel assembly with respect to an attached trailer frame, accomplished by providing a wheel frame, an axle attached to the wheel frame, road tires attached to the axle, and an apertured cross-bar attached centrally to an upper part of the wheel frame. Various forms of trailer devices are then combined with the aforesaid trailer wheel assembly. In a first embodiment of the present invention, an automobile tow trailer is provided by placing a trailer frame for supporting an automobile onto the wheel assembly, the trailer support frame being provided with a pair of automobile wheel cradles. A pivot pin bolt is inserted through a central aperture in the trailer frame and the aperture in the cross-bar in order to pivotably secure the trailer support frame to the wheel assembly. In a second embodiment, the wheel assembly may serve as an aid for towing trailers.
