Publication number: 20150037123Abstract: The truck dumper includes a low profile truck platform built atop a flat concrete slab and lifted by a pair of hydraulic cylinders. The truck platform has a deck suspended between a pair of side I beams resting atop the bottom flanges of the I beams. The low profile truck platform eliminates the need for a below grade lift pit. The truck dumper also includes a wheel chock assembly integrated into the truck platform.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2013Publication date: February 5, 2015Inventor: James Robert Hobbs

Patent number: 6565308Abstract: A Bulk Mail Container (BMC) unloader uses a simple crossed four bar-linkage to move a predetermined point on a BMC unloader in a substantially straight line while the overall BMC unloader rotates about that predetermined point so as to upend the BMC container. This takes advantage of the crossed four-bar's substantially straight-line motion over a limited range of its motion, as well as the rotational motion of the particular unloader link disclosed herein. This is advantageous for unloading. In use, a BMC container is simply rolled into the BMC unloader, and the entire combination of the BMC container and BMC unloader is then actuated to produce substantially straight line motion along a suitably selected “center” point of the BMC unloader while the overall combination rotates about the center point so as to upend the BMC for unloading.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2002Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: The University of the State of New York, State Education DepartmentInventors: Stephen Derby, Matthew Simon, Mark Allen

Patent number: 6402451Abstract: A drive across low-profile portable hydraulic trailer dumper for dumping the contents from a trailer containing a dumpable material, includes a towable elongated frame. A base frame with a deck pivotally attached hereto, which closes down and interlocks with the base frame. Making the overall height of the lift deck only seven (7) inches above the ground or pad site. Removable tread plates for use, when pulling a tractor and trailer forward, onto the trailer dumper. The lift deck has an adjustable chock for positioning the trailer during dumping. Actuators raise and lower the deck between a lowered position adjacent the base frame and a raised position for dumping the trailer contents. The trailer dumper has opposing cantilever wheels located near the back end of the dump for lowering a back end base frame to the support surface at the dump site, and raising a back end of a trailer dumper for towing.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1999Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Inventor: Herbert Louis Brown

Patent number: 6019568Abstract: A portable, low-profile tipper, for dumping the contents from a trailer containing dumpable material, includes a towable, elongated frame having a back end with a deck pivotally attached thereto. The deck has a backstop for positioning the trailer during dumping. Actuators raise and lower the deck to effect dumping. The tipper includes a chute for guiding the dumpable material from the bottom of the trailer past the back end of the frame. Pivotally mounted to the deck rear end beneath the location of the rear end of a trailer supported on the deck is a gate which contains on the deck any materials spilled from the trailer during dumping until it is desired to remove the material from the deck, whereupon the gate can be opened when the tipping platform is elevated and the spilled material permitted to discharge onto a supplementary chute that guides the material away from the tipper frame.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1999Date of Patent: February 1, 2000Assignee: Columbia Trailer Co., Inc.Inventor: Kenneth A.
