  • Patent number: 11566387
Abstract: A milling machine has a frame, ground engaging tracks that support the frame, a first actuator connecting the frame to a first track of the ground engaging tracks and a second actuator connecting the frame to a second track from the ground engaging tracks. The milling machine has an orientation sensor that determines an orientation of the frame. The milling machine has a controller that operates the first and second actuators to raise or lower the frame. The controller determines the frame orientation using the orientation sensor. The controller also determines a velocity error between actuator velocities of the first and second actuators based on the frame orientation and a target orientation of the frame. The controller determines a control parameter for the second actuator based on the velocity error and operates the second actuator using the determined control parameter.

  • Patent number: 9822507
Abstract: A method for automatically adjusting the position of an implement of a lift assembly may generally include receiving a signal indicative of a position and/or a movement parameter of loader arms of the lift assembly and receiving a signal indicative of a pressure of a hydraulic fluid supplied within the lift assembly. The method may also include calculating a first correction signal associated with adjusting the position of the implement, wherein the correction signal is calculated by inputting the position and/or the movement parameter and the fluid pressure into a control equation based on a model of the operational dynamics of the lift assembly. In addition, the method may include generating a valve command signal based at least in part on the correction signal and transmitting the valve command signal to a valve for maintaining the implement at a fixed orientation relative as the loader arms are being moved.

  • Publication number: 20080267755
Abstract: A system is used with a boom pivoted on a frame about a horizontal pivot axis between raised and lowered positions by a first fluid ram joining the frame and the boom. A releasable locking mechanism locks the boom relative to the frame to prevent pivotal movement of the boom about its horizontal pivot axis. A second fluid ram is disposed between the frame and the boom, the second fluid ram compressed between the frame and the boom when the boom is adjacent the raised position, but prior to the boom achieving a latched position substantially coinciding with the raised position. A fluid circuit of the second fluid ram has two selectable pressure levels. The first level substantially prevents the boom from achieving the latched position, the second level permits the boom to achieve the latched position while providing fluid cushioning to dissipate impact forces between the boom and frame.

  • Patent number: 6422804
Abstract: A hydraulic system is provided with a pump supplying pressurized hydraulic fluid through a first supply line to a closed center control valve. From the control valve the fluid is directed through work lines to a hydraulic motor. Exhausted hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic motor is directed through the control valve to an exhaust line having a back pressure check valve set at a first pressure level. The hydraulic motor is provided with a pressure relief valve and an anti-cavitation valve that are mounted in parallel with one another. The anti-cavitation valve is hydraulically coupled to the exhaust line. To keep the exhaust line fully charged a second supply line extends between the first supply line and the exhaust line. The second supply line is provided with a pressure reducing valve that is set at a second pressure level. The second pressure level of the pressure reducing valve is less than the first pressure level of the back pressure check valve.
