Publication number: 20150071753Abstract: A rack feeds sticks of pipe to a machine for serial fusion to the trailing end of a pipeline. Multiple independent spaced apart feeders support transverse bundles of sticks of pipe on beams. Legs which support the beams above the ground have jacks to vary the height and slope of the beams. The slope is set so that sticks tend to roll toward the lower front end of the beam where roller assemblies receive the sticks of pipe as they are manually rolled, one at a time, off the beams. All of the rack components are modular and interchangeably connectable so that the feeder can be quickly adapted for a variety of conditions and applications. The level of the lead end of the pipe can be hydraulically adjusted for vertical orientation with the fusion machine and the pipe fed on by hydraulically powered roller to provide a single operator system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2014Publication date: March 12, 2015Applicant: MCELROY MANUFACTURING, INC.Inventors: Timothy A. Patent number: 8136653Abstract: Under a state in which a long material (structural steel (A)) is sandwiched by pinch rollers (drive roller (21) and idle rollers (22)) of a pinch roller apparatus (20), the drive roller (21) is driven to rotate, and the structural steel (A) is conveyed forward. When a rear end portion of the structural steel (A) reaches a vicinity of the pinch roller apparatus (20), the rear end portion of the structural steel (A) is held by a holding portion (32) provided at a front end portion of a feed bar (36) of a feed bar device (30), and the feed bar (36) is caused to slide toward a working machine. Consequently, the structural steel (A) is conveyed forward through the pinch roller apparatus (20) and is positioned.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2010Date of Patent: March 20, 2012Assignee: Daito Seiki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Taichi Okimoto

Patent number: 7918327Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for receiving successive bars moving longitudinally along an entry path and for laterally transferring the bars from the entry path to a braking path. The apparatus comprises a run in table having a plurality of rollers arranged to convey the bars along the entry path. A braking surface is arranged between the run in table and the braking path. The braking surface and the rollers of the run in table lie in a reference plane sloping downwardly from the entry path to the braking path. A dividing wall is arranged between the run in table and the braking surface. The dividing wall is adjustable between a raised position projecting above the reference plane to block lateral downward movement of bars from the entry path across the braking surface to the braking path, and a lowered position accommodating such downward movement. A switch is positioned in advance of the dividing wall. The switch has a plurality of guide channels arranged around a common axis.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2009Date of Patent: April 5, 2011Assignee: Siemens Industry, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Palfreman, Terence Michael Shore

Publication number: 20110027057Abstract: The invention relates to a wire feed station of a wire shaping machine, said station including grooved rollers functioning in pairs and rotating in reverse directions with respect to each other. The wire is clamped between said rollers by these moving closer to one another. Both rollers of the same pair of driving rollers are supported at the front of the same bearing block unit, said bearing block being elastically deformable to absorb a relative movement of the rollers. Preferably, said bearing block also supports an endless transmission screw on which are engaged a couple of transmission wheels coaxial with the driving rollers which they drive into rotation. More particularly, a bearing block is deformed so that a relative movement of the rollers results in a rotation-deformation of the bearing block about the transmission screw axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2009Publication date: February 3, 2011Applicant: NUMALLIANCE SASInventor: Joël Etienne

Patent number: 6896019Abstract: The log positioning and conveying apparatus is used for conveying a log from an upstream end to a downstream end, and for positioning a log according to a predetermined downstream position. The apparatus comprises an open frame and a number of powered conveying rollers arranged therein in a row. These rollers, in addition to being rotatable, are displaceable in two directions relative to the open frame, namely, in a vertical direction for correcting the position of the log vertically relative to the open frame, and in a horizontal direction transversal to the longitudinal axis of the conveying apparatus, for correcting the position of the log transversely relative to the longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2003Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: Sawquip International Inc.Inventors: René Achard, Robert Gauthier, Jean-Pierre Perreault, Eddy Ste-Croix

Patent number: 6283353Abstract: A press roll device for applying pressure on a piece of wood moving along a path. The device has a frame mounted in proximity to the path of the piece of wood and a lower and an upper arm both pivotally connected to the frame. A roller is rotationally mounted on the end of the lower arm and a jack is resiliently connected to the corresponding end of the upper arm. A bag of compressed air is disposed between the ends of the lower and upper arm, resiliently separating the roller and the jack. In this manner, the bag of compressed air absorbs the vibration of the roller caused by unevenness in the piece of wood, at least partially.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1999Date of Patent: September 4, 2001Assignee: Equipements Gilbert Inc.Inventor: Sylvain Gilbert
