  • Patent number: 7290777
Abstract: A transportable device, such as a cart, for transporting and elevating an imaging media cartridge into a press printer may include a base platform, first and second elevation members disposed thereon, a panel disposed between the first and second elevation members, and first and second elevator platforms. The panel may include a pair of opposite vertical faces along which the elevator platforms slide to mutually exchange elevations by vertically sliding the platforms in opposite directions. The device may be used for a method of transporting and elevating an imaging media cartridge into a press printer at an installation height above a floor. Additionally, the device may be used for a method of removing and storing an imaging media cartridge from a press printer at an installation height above the floor.

  • Patent number: 5116191
Abstract: Provided is (i) a method for reinforcing pallet board loads having internal ventilation channels and (ii) a pallet board brace useful in such method. The method comprises:(a) stacking each tier of the pallet board load in a preselected configuration such that the sides of the boxes on each tier form at least two open channels in fluid communication with one another, wherein at least one end of each channel is open to the exterior of the tier and wherein each channel is at least one inch wide; and(b) bracing the boxes to prevent them from shifting laterally into the open channels by interposing spacing elements between the boxes on opposites sides of the channels, the spacing elements being disposed in fixed relationship to one another by a suitable rigid structure.

  • Patent number: 5024577
Abstract: A paper arranging system for re-loading or re-stacking a bundle of paper sheets from a paper feed rack to a paper arranging device has a bridge plate interposed between the paper feed rack and the paper arranging device so as to bridge the space defined between the paper feed rack and the paper arranging device. In addition, a working platform is disposed in front of the paper feed rack, the bridge plate, and the paper arranging device so as to operatively support a workman at the working platform station for performance of the paper re-loading or re-stacking operation. The working platform is pivotable between a first horizontally disposed working or support position, and a second vertically disposed inoperative position so that free access to the front regions of the paper feed rack and the paper arranging device is provided.

  • Patent number: 4964781
Abstract: An arrangement for conveying and stacking final products created by subdivision of a succession of plate blanks into a plurality of such products comprises an input conveyor for supplying the products in a longitudinal transport direction at a predetermined upper level to a stacking station and an output conveyor offset laterally from the input conveyor for transporting stacks of the products away from the stacking station in the direction and having an upstream end laterally adjacent the stacking station at a lower level below the upper level of the input conveyor. A sorter at the station receives the products from the input conveyor at the upper level and moves them at the upper level to either of two stacking substations longitudinally aligned with the upstream end of the output conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4828040
Abstract: A mobile automatic sod harvesting apparatus of the type which severs a sod strip from the ground parallel to the direction of travel, cuts the strips into sod pads of predetermined length and conveys the sod pads rearwardly toward a sod stacking and unloading station is disclosed which features a side unloading configuration to permit a pallet loaded with sod pads to be unloaded laterally of the direction of travel of the apparatus. The side unloading feature is further characterized by a lift fork assembly slideably mounted for horizontal displacement at right angles to the path of travel of the harvesting apparatus. The lift fork assembly which supports a sod receiving pallet is vertically movable at adjustable height to aid stacking the pallet with sod pads and for depositing a loaded pallet onto the ground upon horizontal extension of the lift assembly at a right angle to the path of travel of the apparatus.
