  • Patent number: 11460044
Abstract: A radial fan half-spiral housing has a pressure chamber extending in the circumferential direction about an axial intake opening (5) to a radial blow-out opening (31). The pressure chamber, as viewed in the circumferential direction, is subdivided into at least one beginning portion (7), one central portion (8), and one blow-out portion. The intake opening (5) determines a central axis of rotation for a fan wheel. An averaged half-spiral housing radius, as viewed about the axis of rotation (11), varies in the beginning portion (7), the center portion (8), and the blow-out portion (9). It reaches a maximum in the blow-out portion (9). The center portion (8) of the half-spiral housing radius is reduced in a region determining a maximum height H(?,z) of the half-spiral housing (1) compared to a logarithmic spiral radius (rlog).

  • Patent number: 11375647
Abstract: An electronic device includes a fan assembly that draws air (including heated air) away from components and forces the air out of the electronic device. The fan assembly includes a guide vane located in the fan housing. Subsequent to air entering the fan assembly via the fan inlets, the guide vane is designed to direct the air to a fan outlet. Further, the guide vane is designed and positioned in the fan assembly to limit or prevent flow separation that may cause the heated air to recirculate and may also cause increased turbulence leading to elevated acoustic noise. Furthermore, the guide vane may include a tapered region to allow the heated air to readily flow over the guide vane to limit or prevent a vortex from occurring within the fan assembly. Using the guide vane, the fan assembly drives more air at the same fan speed and lowers noise generation.

  • Patent number: 11371532
Abstract: An inlet collector for a centrifugal fan and a centrifugal fan are provided. By arranging a tragus-shaped section in a guiding section, reverse flow caused by intersection of inlet leakage flow at a volute tongue side and inlet airflow is blocked by the tragus-shaped structure in movement process, and the leakage flow no longer collide with the inlet airflow. An inner curved surface of the tragus-shaped section controls backflow to change smoothly along an inner wall surface of the tragus-shaped section and re-enter a volute for circulation. A tragus profile is adopted to guide the airflow to change more smoothly in the velocity direction near the wall of the guiding section, so as to effectively reduce the impact of the inlet airflow on the guiding section. By using the inlet collector, energy loss of airflow is reduced, vortex formation is suppressed, and aerodynamic performance and fan noise are improved.

Abstract: A self-priming pump assembly comprises a series connection of a liquid ring pump functioning as a rotating displacement pump and a normally-priming centrifugal pump. The self-priming pump assembly improves the fluid mechanics conditions for the flow of fluids toward and into a return line through the inclusion of a first connection opening in the meridian plane of the centrifugal pump that possesses a bulge enclosing a sector of the longitudinal axis of the first connection opening, where the bulge is one-sided and oriented toward a rotary axis of the pump assembly, and the bulge continuously expands, directly or indirectly, the first connection opening toward the impeller plane. At its end section facing the impeller plane, a transitional surface of the bulge continuously transitions into the lateral boundary surface, or an inner peripheral wall of the ring channel adjoining the lateral boundary surface.

  • Patent number: 10527294
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling a pump for feeding fluid (F) into a heating system (1000). The heating system has a hot fluid tank (HFT) receiving fluid from an associated fluid reservoir line (5) with an incoming fluid mass flow rate (dmcw/dt). A pump (P) receives fluid from the line, and pumps the received fluid with a mass flow rate (dmc/dt). A heat exchanging unit (HX) transfers heat (Q) to the fluid (F) from a medium (R). The transferred heat (Q) is maximized by controlling the pump (P1) in response to this information indicative of the transferred heat (Q), the fluid mass flow rate delivered by the pump thereby having a minimum as a function of the incoming fluid mass flow rate (dmcw/dt) when maximizing the transferred heat. The invention provides significantly improved heat transfer to the fluid and power savings for the pump. The invention also relates to a heating system, e.g. a heat pump system.
