Abstract: A relatively less complex segmented spring mounted under the bearing and damper or the same configuration segmented spring mounted on either side of the bearing and damper serves to center the shaft of a rotor of a gas turbine engine and is characterized as being simple, occupying minimum space, but being capable of maintaining an adequate fatigue stress margin.
Abstract: In a fluid handling appartus comprising a multi-stage mechanical seal assembly, an additional mechanical seal assembly to maintain a substantially constant exit pressure of leakage from the last stage of the multi-stage mechanical seal assembly, and a novel driving arrangement between the motor and the fluid machine.
