Fans Patents (Class 416/70A)
  • Patent number: 5980205
Abstract: A folding fan, more specifically a folding fan used as an advertisement medium. A rectangular shape piece of paper is placed on another paper piece of the same shape, the pieces of paper are opened in such a way that the vertex A at the top right side of one rectangular paper piece is against the center of an opening m selected at a prescribed position on the center line F in the direction of a longer side agrees with the vertex C at the top left side of another rectangular paper piece. The line segment connecting the point E, which is obtained on the vertex side at the bottom right side of the rectangular paper piece at the point where the distance between the vertexes B and D on the bottom side of the two paper pieces opposing the agreed vertex is divided into three equal parts. The agreed vertex A at the top right side of the rectangular paper piece is taken as a bend line, and the rectangular paper piece is folded in the shape of a valley at the bend line.

  • Patent number: 5975849
Abstract: A handle structure for a flexible fan includes two corresponding holding brackets and two corresponding handle members. The holding brackets are provided at their inner sides with a plurality of receiving means and stop means so as to firmly clamp a segment of a steel wire frame of the flexible fan between the receiving and the stop means. The handle members are separately pivotally connected at one end to two ends of the holding brackets and respectively define a space for receiving two sides of the twisted and folded flexible fan therein when the fan is not in use and the handle members are pushed apart to abut against the frame of the fan. The handle members are formed with curved recesses for a comfortable grip by a the user's fingers. When the handle members are pushed to abut one another and become perpendicular to the fan, the user may stably grip the handle members to wave the fan easily.

  • Patent number: 5387084
Abstract: A fan device comprising two flat leaves inseparably attached to a flat hollow handle that serves as an envelope wherein the folded leaves can be tucked away when not in use. The fan opens for use by telescoping the leaves out of the envelope/handle part way, unfolding them, and then inserting side tabs of the leaves into side slots on the envelope/handle. Top center notches on both leaves are then interlocked forming a rigid plane comprising the two leaves joined to each other and to the envelope/handle to become a unit that is sturdy enough to be used for fanning. The surface area of the fan may be imprinted with indicia, for viewing during fanning or as a display.

  • Patent number: 4352630
Abstract: A hand fan assembly comprises a fan body having an elongate handle socket extending inwardly from one edge of the body, and an elongate handle having a hand-grip portion and an extension stem projecting from the grip portion and adapted to be retainingly received in the socket. Assembly may be effected by sliding the stem into the socket through an entrance having a threshold to facilitate locating the tip of the stem for insertion into the socket. The stem may be frictionally retained in the socket to maintain the handle in functional assembly with the fan body. The fan body is adapted to be formed by folding panels together along a score line which may have a cut-out to receive the handle stem into the socket. In a kit package the fan body and the handle are enclosed in an envelope with the handle extending across a major dimension of the body.
