  • Patent number: 11885535
Abstract: A compressor operable in a heat pump mode of a refrigerant circuit includes a compression space in which a refrigerant is compressed. The compression space includes a discharge port and an injection port. A discharge chamber is fluidly coupled to the compression space by the discharge port. An injection chamber is fluidly coupled to the compression space by the injection port. A discharge recirculation pathway selectively provides fluid communication between the discharge chamber and the injection chamber. An injection of the recirculated refrigerant into the compression space through the injection port results in an increase in pressure, and hence temperature, of the refrigerant when discharged to the discharge chamber. The increased temperature of the discharged refrigerant increases a heating capacity of a condenser of the associated refrigerant circuit.

Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided. In the scroll compressor, a valve accommodating groove that accommodates a discharge port and bypass holes is recessed by a predetermined depth into a rear surface of a non-orbiting scroll, and a valve guide is disposed between the rear surface of the non-orbiting scroll and a rear surface of the back pressure chamber assembly facing the rear surface of the non-orbiting scroll. Bypass valve guide holes into which bypass valves that open and close the bypass holes are slidably inserted are formed in the valve guide. Accordingly, the bypass valves that suppress or prevent overcompression in compression chambers are not fastened to a non-orbiting end plate, which may allow the non-orbiting end plate to be reduced in thickness. As the non-orbiting end plate is reduced in thickness, lengths of the bypass holes may be reduced, thereby decreasing dead volumes in the bypass holes.

The rotor is attached to a motor that rotates it in first and second directions and is located in a cavity. The plurality of vanes are each pivotally coupled to the rotor so as the rotor rotates, the vanes selectively push fluid from an inlet port out through an outlet port. The plurality of vanes each have an end selected from the group consisting of a lobe, no lobe, and a rod located in the lobe. Each of the plurality of vanes also includes a pivot pin configured to fit in a corresponding receptacle located in the rotor so that each of the plurality of vanes is pivotable with respect to the rotor inside the cavity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed to isolate operation vibration of a compressor to reduce operational sound. A compressor may include an external shell, and one or more isolators that separate a compression mechanism of a compressor from the external shell. The isolator can help isolate the vibration of the compression mechanism from the external shell. The isolator can also support a weight of the compression mechanism. The external shell can also include one or more internal seals. The internal seals can help separate a low-pressure side (e.g., a suction side) and a high-pressure side (e.g., a discharge side) of the compression mechanism. The compressor may also include a pressure balancing mechanism configured to help reduce a pressure difference between, for example, two ends of the compression mechanism, so as to reduce/eliminate the compression mechanism from physical shift in position due to the pressure difference.
