  • Patent number: 10350556
Abstract: A compact interaction chamber is used to cause high shear, impact forces, and cavitation to reduce particle size and mix fluids while reducing waste and holdup volume. A first housing made of stainless steel holds an inlet mixing chamber element and an outlet mixing chamber element in a female bore using thermal expansion. The inlet and outlet mixing chamber elements are manufactured so that the diameter of the cooled female bore is slightly smaller than the diameter of the mixing chamber elements. The first housing is heated, expanding the diameter of the female bore enough to allow the inlet and outlet mixing chamber elements to be inserted. After the mixing chamber elements are inserted and aligned within the female bore, the first housing is allowed to cool. Once cooled, the female bore contracts and applies sufficient hoop stress to securely hold the mixing chamber elements during high shear force mixing.

  • Patent number: 9388593
Abstract: A safety device for a drain sump includes a drain adjunct member and an adapter for attaching the drain adjunct member to the main drain pipe that is in connection with the pool or spa pump. The drain adjunct member is “T-shaped” for limiting the possibility of limb entrapment and further includes anti-hair entangling mesh and vacuum relief holes for limiting the possibility of hair and body entrapment. In the event that an individual does block water flow into the drain adjunct member, the unblocked vacuum relief holes prevent a vacuum force from being created by allowing increased intake of water therethrough. The arrangement of the vacuum relief holes on the body of the drain adjunct member disrupts the vortex effect otherwise created by the typical single direction flow of water in a standard main drain pipe, thereby further limiting the likelihood of limb, body or hair entrapment.

  • Patent number: 8926293
Abstract: Disclosed is a motor-pump assembly (1) for a brake actuating device of a motor vehicle brake system with a pneumatic brake booster. An electric motor (3) drives a double diaphragm pump (2) with two working diaphragms (4) which are located opposite one another. Air expelled from the working spaces (7) is directed into an interior space (22) surrounding a crank drive (8) of the pump housing (5). An air outlet unit (13) permits low-noise expulsion of the air from the interior space 22 by deflecting the air. In order to make available a low-noise, cost-reduced motor-pump assembly the eccentrics (9) each have an unbalance weight (25) integrally molded onto the eccentric (9).

  • Patent number: 8894769
Abstract: The invention concerns a material evaporation chamber including a vacuum chamber (10), a first pumping unit (13) to pump said chamber and sources of material. According to the invention, a wall (23) liable to provide total or partial vacuum tightness, delineates within this chamber a first volume (25) and a second volume (22). Certain sources of material (17) having a main axis (18) are placed in the second volume (22). This second volume (22) is pumped by a second pumping unit (24). The wall (23) includes recesses (26) which are each centered on the main axis (18) of one of the sources of material (17). The evaporation chamber also comprises means (27) for plugging or clearing each of said recesses (26), said means (27) being controlled individually to protect the sources of material (17) having a main axis (18) unused.

Abstract: A reciprocating compressor or pump features a manifold arranged not only to define a hollow interior for receiving fluid discharged from a plurality of cylinders but also to define a base or frame on which the cylinders are carried. Unique valves formed in part by flexible material reduces the likelihood of fatigue and increases efficiency by retaining less heat relative to conventional reed valves. A compressor or pump mounted at an end of a handle extending parallel to a motor housing likewise extending from the compressor or pump provides an easy to carry portable assembly. A fan mounted between a motor and a compressor pulls air through the compressor inlet to both cool the motor and feed the compressor. A portable tool system powers both pneumatic and electric tools.
