Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid mechanical converter having at least one energy-accumulator mass system that can be powered by a power drive. To provide a fluid mechanical converter, which improves overall efficiency using the simplest components, it is proposed according to the invention that the displacement of the driven energy accumulator-mass system is overlaid with a displacement that is caused by at least one inertial force.
Abstract: A wind energy installation having a tower, a gondola supported by the tower, a rotor mounted in the gondola, and at least one pressure pump that is mechanically driven by the rotor and that feeds a raw water-treating reverse osmosis plant, the components of the reverse osmosis plant being arranged within the tower.
Abstract: A pendulum member swings right and left relative to an air compressor remaining still in a fixed position. As a result, the air compressor slides relative to and from end to end of a piston chamber of the pendulum member. The air compressor compresses air in a portion of the piston chamber forward with respect to a sliding direction of the air compressor, and decompresses air in a portion of the piston chamber rearward with respect to the sliding direction. This action is repeated continuously whereby compressed air in the forward portion of the piston chamber flows through a wind turbine chamber to the rearward portion of the piston chamber. The series of air flows forcibly and continuously rotates a wind turbine, which in turn rotates a generator to obtain electricity.
Abstract: A water pump includes a pump stand and a spout mounted on the stand for communication with its interior. A rotary drive shaft supported by the pump stand extends downwardly to an underground water supply. A pump rotor supported by the drive shaft is positioned within a stator communicating with the water supply, for cooperating to pump water to the pump stand and the spout. An input shaft applies a rotary driving motion to a gear box mounted on the pump stand, which in turn applies a rotary driving motion to the drive shaft. The gear box includes first and second bevel gears mounted on the input shaft in a spaced apart relation. A first clutch permits relative rotary motion in a first direction between the input shaft and the first gear while prohibiting relative rotary motion in a second direction. A second clutch permits relative rotary motion between the input shaft and the second bevel gear in the second direction, while prohibiting relative rotary motion in the first direction.
Abstract: An improved tide operated power generating apparatus is disclosed in which a hollow float, rising and falling with the ocean tide, transmits energy to a power generator. The improvement comprises means for filling the float with water during the incoming tide to provide a substantial increase in the float dead weight during the outgoing tide. Means are further provided to then empty the float before the outgoing tide whereby the float becomes free to rise again on the next incoming tide.
