Motor Within Rotary Pumping Member Patents (Class 417/352)
  • Patent number: 4596117
Abstract: A gas powered engine for use in combination with a pressurized gas source to propel the gas powered engine through a fluid medium such as water comprising an engine housing having a plurality of blades formed on the outer periphery thereof held in fixed spaced relationship to an outer hollow substantially frustum housing by an attachment structure to cooperatively form a fluid flow chamber therebetween, the engine housing comprising a hollow substantially cylindrical housing to operatively house a drive assembly therein, the drive assembly comprising a drive shaft assembly coupled to the attachment structure in fixed relationship relative to the hollow substantially cylindrical housing, having a gas distribution structure mounted thereon, and a cylinder assembly and a swash plate assembly rotatably mounted thereon, the gas distribution structure being operatively disposed between the pressurized gas source and the cylinder assembly to selectively feed and discharge pressurized gas to and from the cylinder ass

  • Patent number: 4551073
Abstract: A rotary pump has a trochoidal member and a trochoidal rotary piston which preferably forms a gap seal with the trochoidal surface of the housing so that damage to blood cells and the like is avoided when the pump is used as an artificial heart or to assist circulation. The rotor is jounaled on an eccentric within a housing which may be the casing of an electric motor for driving the pump. The motor and its speed reducer, preferably planetary gearing, are disposed wholly within the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4417560
Abstract: An intake air booster for boosting air flow in an internal combustion engine or the like which includes a first air passageway communicating directly with an engine intake manifold having a plurality of interleaved rotating and stationary blades, the rotating blades forming a second internal passageway, the stationary blade providing an outer housing, so that air passing through this first passageway will be stirred by virtue of the interaction against these blades; the second air passageway formed by an internal band contained on the rotating blades includes caps on bottom and top portions of the passageway provided with a plurality of inlets and outlets and a source of compressed air adapted to engage the cap and by so doing providing additional air through the air passageway while simultaneously increasing the rotation of the rotary blades in the first air passageway, the source of compressed air including a reservoir and appropriate valving and sensing means which selectively engage the compressed air for
