  • Patent number: 8167583
Abstract: A pump support coupler assembly for connecting a large displacement hydraulic pump to a tractor power take off device is provided. The pump support coupler assembly includes a coupler housing with front and back walls, and sidewalls. The high displacement hydraulic pump attaches directly or indirectly to the coupler housing back wall. A shaft extends longitudinally through the coupler housing. The shaft is coupled to an input shaft of the hydraulic pump at its first end and a power take off output shaft at its second end. A torque restraint strap extends between the coupler housing and a tractor drawbar, and prevents the coupler housing from rotating about its longitudinal axis. In this configuration, the power take off output shaft supports the pump support coupler assembly and the hydraulic pump, and since the pump is attached to the coupler housing, the pump input shaft is not subjected to bending-type loads.

The multi wiper member circular support carries from about five to nine wiper members each mounted within a slot extending substantially the length of the support, with each wiper member being centrifically urged outwardly to wipingly engage an inner surface of a round or elliptical walled pump housing. Eccentric action enables the wiper members to be extended to create a large space between adjacent wiper members as an inlet is passed. • Patent number: 5344291
Abstract: A combination frame arranged between a centrifugal pump and a driver, such as a motor, the combination frame having in a central region thereof a compartment for holding shaft bearings and a quantity of oil, and a pump adapter frame arranged between said compartment and said pump, and a driver adapter frame arranged between said compartment and said driver, the pump and driver adapter frames and the compartment cast or forced as an integral structurally seamless frame between pump and driver. The driver adapter frame radially surrounds and covers impeller axial adjustment studs and reference nuts at the bearing housing, for protection. The combination frame of the present invention provides a stronger structural integrity than the multi-component frames of the prior art which allows for more precise alignment of the coupling between motor and pump which reduces vibration.

  • Patent number: 5213480
Abstract: A small wheelable line striper is provided with a gasoline engine powered pump which has an outlet designed for direct immersion into a container of paint or other coating material. The gasoline engine and pump are mounted on a pump frame which is attached to two telescoping posts so that the pump and engine may be lifted upwardly out of the bucket of paint. The pump frame is biased upwardly by a nitrogen gas spring which provides an upward force slightly greater than the weight of the engine and pump so that the pump may be lifted automatically. Latches are provided to latch the pump and engine in either the upward or downward positions.

  • Patent number: 5030346
Abstract: The pump includes a discharge head having a pair of axially spaced end walls defining in part an annular chamber therebetween. The tank includes a housing in communication with a liquid outlet conduit. By seating the discharge head in the tank housing, an annular pump discharge chamber is defined with the housing and between the end walls of the pump. Clean coolant from the suction side of a filter disposed in the tank flows through the pump inlet and discharge head into the tank outlet conduit for delivery to machine tools. The pump is driven through a releasable coupling by an electric motor disposed above the tank mounted for movement between operative and out-of-the-way positions whereby the pump may be readily removed from and reinstalled in the tank without disconnection or connection of pipe fittings within the tank. Alternatively, a submersible electric motor may be provided.

  • Patent number: 5011368
Abstract: A vacuum pump of the type having a Gaede channel, the pump comprising a stator (1) and a rotor (2) driven to rotate inside the stator, the stator including a suction inlet (12) and a delivery outlet (13). The active portion of the rotor situated between the suction inlet and the delivery outlet is hemispherical in shape (9) and is disposed inside a cavity (10) of the stator which is likewise hemispherical in shape. The axis .delta. of said rotor coincides with the said axis of the hemispherical cavity of the stator. Suction takes place at the large circle end of the hemispherical rotor via radial clearance j.sub.a between the rotor and the stator, and delivery takes place at the pole end of the hemispherical rotor. An adjustment distance piece (14) for axially positioning the rotor (2) relative to the stator (1) is provided so that the radial delivery clearance j.sub.r is smaller than the radial suction clearance j.sub.a.

  • Patent number: 4790185
Abstract: A fuel sender mount comprises a support rod, a mounting plate secured at one end of the support rod and bolted to the top wall of the fuel tank, a carriage slideably mounted to the support rod and secured to the fuel sender housing and a spring for resiliently urging the carriage downwardly away from the top wall of the tank. The lower end of the carriage is received in a guide socket so that the fuel sender remains fixedly positioned with respect to the fuel tank. The mount is particularly useful in a fuel tank having a resiliently deformable bottom which can be deformed upwardly upon contact with a foreign object. During such contact, the carriage slides along the support rod to prevent puncturing of the bottom wall of the tank, and the force of the contact is not directed against the support rod or the mounting plate with sufficient force to cause the mounting bolts to rip through the top wall of the fuel tank or otherwise rupture the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 4781527
Abstract: A cartridge or plug-in pump for use in a fluid holding receptacle such as an aircraft fuel tank. A pump housing on the fluid holding receptacle has an inlet opening to allow passage of fluid from the receptacle into the pump housing. A plug-in pump assembly is axially and rotatably positionable in the pump housing. A pump inlet closure is mounted on the pump housing for movement between inlet open and closed postions. Seals are provided between the pump housing and the pump assembly. A first actuator moves the closure to its inlet closed position in response to rotational movement of the pump assembly relative to the pump housing. A second actuator moves the pump assembly axially relative to the pump housing to break the seals also in response to rotational movement of the pump assembly relative to the pump housing. The first and second actuators are synchronized whereby the closure is in its inlet closed position at the time the seals are broken.
