Abstract: An electric vane pump includes a first cover plate having a substantially planar first pump surface and a second cover plate coupled to the first cover plate defining a substantially planar second pump surface spaced apart from and extending substantially parallel to the first pump surface. A plurality of permanent magnets are fixed to a rotor. A plurality of radially moveable vanes are fixed for rotation with the rotor. Each vane is positioned between the first and second pump surfaces and has a first end slidably engaging the center vane support. An electric motor stator is positioned between the first and second cover plates and circumscribes the rotor. A resilient member biases each of the vanes into engagement with the center vane support.

Abstract: A positive displacement rotary system may include a main rotor and a slotted rotor. The main rotor can include an interior cavity and a fixed vane (or blade) that is attached to the peripheral and side walls of that cavity. The slotted rotor is positioned within the main rotor interior and includes a slot for the main rotor blade. The main and slotted rotors rotate about parallel axes that are offset from one another. As the rotors turn, separate chambers are formed between the blade and an inter-rotor seal, with the inter-rotor seal located at or near a rolling contact between the outer surface of the slotted rotor and an inner perimeter wall of the main rotor cavity. The separate chambers contract and expand as the rotors rotate.

  • Patent number: 7988431
Abstract: A variable capacity rotary compressor is provided, in which a vane may be restricted by a pressure difference generated between both side surfaces of the vane when the compressor performs in a saving driving mode. The vane may be restricted quickly and stably by rapidly decreasing a pressure of a vane chamber by leaking a discharge pressure of the vane chamber to an inlet via a low pressure passage and thereby increasing a pressurizing force applied to a side surface of the vane relatively greater than a supporting force applied to a rear surface thereof. In this way, the vane may be prevented from being vibrated due to a weak restriction force of the vane when a power driving mode of the compressor is switched into the saving driving mode, which prevents noise from increasing due to design conditions, thereby enhancing a comfort feeling of a user.
