Abstract: An ultrahigh-pressure fluid system, such as an ultrahigh-pressure fluid pump, includes an improved dynamic seal assembly that can withstand pressures above 40,000 psi, and more preferably, pressures up to and beyond 87,000 psi. The dynamic sealing assembly includes a plastic seal having a bore through which the plunger reciprocates, and a bearing positioned adjacent the seal, also having a bore through which the plunger reciprocates. A seal carrier surrounds the circumference of the bearing and is subjected to a compressive force that is sufficiently high to circumferentially collapse the seal carrier in a radial direction against the bearing. This collapse of the seal carrier against the bearing causes an inner surface of the bore through the bearing to achieve substantially uniform contact with an outer surface of the plunger when the assembly is subjected to ultrahigh-pressure, thereby eliminating gaps that occur in prior art systems.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a linear compressor includes measures to account for possible variations in manufacture of the spring connecting between a cylinder part and a piston part. In the method, the piston is located at a predetermined axial position in the bore of the cylinder of the compressor. A spring that is connected with the cylinder part is extended so that a piston connection point of the spring is at a position based on a predetermined displacement of the spring or a position in which the spring exerts a predetermined reaction force. In this position, this piston and the spring connection point are thus separated by a distance that depends on the actual formed dimension of the individual spring. The piston and the piston connection point are subsequently joined to have a rigid axial separation that is fixed according to the separation attained in these steps.

Abstract: Digital fluid pumps having first and second electromagnetic actuators formed in part by a piston to alternately drive the piston in opposite directions for pumping purposes. The piston motion is intentionally limited so that the electromagnetic actuators may operate with a high flux density to provide an output pressure higher than that obtained with conventional solenoid actuated pumps. The electromagnetic actuator coils are electrically pulsed for each pumping cycle as required to maintain the desired fluid flow and output pressure, with the piston being magnetically latchable at one or both extreme positions between pulses. Alternate embodiments and control methods and systems are disclosed.

Abstract: A reciprocating compressor comprises an inside stator formed by piling a plurality of stator cores to have an actinomorphic cylinder shape, which is press-fitted to a frame, and a streak protection member and a burr shielding ring installed between the inner aspect of the inside stator and corresponding outer aspect of the frame. Thereby the burr generating between the frame and the inner stator by a streak is prevented previously, and even if a burr is generated, this burr is locked in a burr escape unit in the burr-shielding ring. Therefore degrading of valve function and an abrasion of a sliding unit in a compressing unit by the burr generating is prevented and the vibration noise of the compressor is reduced by assembling the frame and the inside stator strongly.
