  • Patent number: 10514031
Abstract: A high hardness sleeve or surface treatment to a predetermined hardness is used in a packing bore for a fluid end of a pump assembly. The bore is either treated to provide the hardness or a sleeve is used which is fitted in an oversized bore for preventing washout failure. The sleeve is welded into the pump block and machined to the proper size bore. Thereafter the bore is protected from washout failure at this location. Alternatively, a surface of the sleeve is polished which further reduces the wear on the part. The sleeve can be a stainless steel material hardened by heat treating process or otherwise treated or carbon steel sleeves with the predetermined bore hardness which could be welded into a suitable bore in the pump. However, other processes for hardening the stainless steel can be used as long as desired predetermined surface hardness is maintainable.

Abstract: An arrangement for selectively making available hydraulic power in separate hydraulic circuits comprises two displacement machines, two free-wheels and a drive unit that is preferably arranged between the displacement machines. The free-wheels block in opposite directions and are coupled to the displacement machines. Consequently, the first displacement machine is driven in a first rotating direction of the drive unit while the second displacement machine is only driven in a second, opposite rotating direction of the drive unit. This makes it possible to realize an intermittent operation for selectively making available additional hydraulic power in separate hydraulic subsystems by choosing the rotating direction accordingly. • Patent number: 7559753
Abstract: A double disc pump includes a stationary main pump housing block that can remain fixed to its supporting frame while all other parts of the pump are removed for servicing. This permits disassembly of the pump without disconnecting the inlet or outlet plumbing and is provided by a pump housing which is vertically divided along parallel horizontal planes into housing segments. An intermediate housing segment is hingedly mounted to the main block segment. A bottom housing segment is hingedly mounted to the intermediate housing segment. These three segments capture all of the internal parts of the pump including the suction and discharge discs and the trunnion seals. The hinged design of the segments allows them to conveniently swing away from other parts of the housing so that access to the internal structures can be accomplished without completely removing each segment.

  • Patent number: 7506574
Abstract: A self-tightening retaining system for securing a closure in position closing an access port of a pump housing. The system includes a retaining cover for obstructing removal of the closure from a bore of the access port. The cover has external threads interengageable with screw threads of the bore. A locking device is configured for being secured to the cover such that the locking device rotates together with the cover. The locking device has a fastener receivable in a hole of the closure and has external threads interengageable with threads of the hole. The threads of the cover and the threads of the fastener are spiraled in opposite directions such that when the cover rotates in a loosening direction, the fastener becomes tightened in the hole of the closure thereby stopping the rotation.

  • Publication number: 20090016917
Abstract: A dual rocking piston pump is disclosed which includes a first piston with a first connecting rod eccentrically mounted to a rotor shaft and a second piston with a second connecting rod eccentrically mounted to the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft passes through a first bearing and a second bearing before being connected to a rotor body. The rotor body is disposed within a stator. The first and second bearings and stator are supported by a bracket. The bracket includes a hub which, in turn includes a first end connected to a wall at an opening in the wall. The hub also includes a second end. The first end of the hub supports the first bearing at the wall and the second end of the hub supports the second bearing. Both the first and second bearings are disposed to “in front” of the motor or in front of both the rotor and stator.

  • Patent number: 7404704
Abstract: A cylinder block assembly for a reciprocating pump includes a block body having a piston chamber that receives a piston of the reciprocating pump. The cylinder block assembly has an outlet valve assembly positioned within the block body that is positioned in fluid communication with the piston chamber. An outlet valve retainer retains the outlet valve relative to the piston chamber. The cylinder block assembly includes an inlet valve assembly extending through a side of the block body to the piston chamber. An inlet valve retainer also retains the inlet valve assembly relative to the piston chamber. A discharge passage extends from the outlet valve assembly to another side of the block body. A portion of the discharge passage extends between the inlet valve assembly and the inlet valve retainer.

  • Patent number: 7278836
Abstract: A metering pump that is capable of delivering a constant, rate of fluid over a wide range of viscosities at infinitely variable delivery rates. Two identical pumping chambers are provided with one operating in the suction mode, and the other in the discharge mode with each cylinder switching modes at each pumping cycle, thereby providing continuous delivery of fluid in and out of the pump. The displacement of the chamber is large in order to facilitate operation at a very slow cycle speed of only one to four reciprocations per minute. The fluid valves are mechanically operated providing for positive sealing thus enabling the pump to operate at very slow speeds without leakage.
