  • Patent number: 6913451
Abstract: A vacuum vane pump for generating a vacuum condition for aircraft instruments includes a rotor having a peripheral surface eccentrically mounted in a housing having a confrontingly opposed inner surface so that the opposed surfaces define a crescent-shaped chamber. The rotor has a plurality of radial slots, each of which receives a vane which is slidably displaced radially outwardly along the slot as the rotor is rotatively driven so that the outer tips of the vanes are pressed in frictional abutment with the inner surface of the housing. • Patent number: 5509388
Abstract: A rotary engine includes a cylindrical rotor having four spaced apart vanes therein mounted in a stator housing having an oblong perimeter casing which defines generally crescent shaped, diametrically opposite first and second working chambers in which the rotor vanes travel. Inlet and outlet ports are disposed at respective ends of the working chambers, and a flow chamber is joined to the casing between the working chambers. The flow chamber temporarily stores compressed fluid from the first working chamber and discharges it into the second working chamber wherein combustion takes place for rotating the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5409360
Abstract: A rotary pump comprising a stator body having a bore and a rotor assembly mounted eccentrically in the bore to form a cavity between the stator body and the rotor assembly. The rotor assembly has two blades slidably positioned in diametrically opposed slots in the rotor assembly. In use of the pump the two blades are substantially in contact with an inner wall of the stator body. The stator body has an inlet and an outlet to allow, in use of the pump, fluid being pumped to enter into and be expelled from the cavity by means of the rotating vanes. The rotor assembly is of integral construction with each slot defined therein having an arcuate base and each blade has an end portion substantially conforming to the arcuate slot base.

  • Patent number: 5007813
Abstract: A rotary rolling piston type compressor having a cylinder mounted in a hermetic shell and a rolling piston driven by a crankshaft carried by the rotor of an electric motor whose stator is fixed internally to the shell. An external part of the cylinder has a radial slot that houses a slidable vane which defines with the cylinder and the piston compression and a suction chamber. The vane surface facing the suction chamber has a planar surface on its upper portion parallel to the vane surface facing the compression chamber and the lower portion of the surface facing the suction chamber has a relieved, or chamfered, section(s). The chamfered surface(s) develops a hydrodynamic wedge effect upon the vane during downward displacement, increasing the lubricating and stability capacity of the vane against the wall of the slot in which the vane slides, and reduces the area of the vane which is in actual contact with the wall of the slot.
