  • Patent number: 8756845
Abstract: An accessory which becomes an integral part of a semi-automatic firearm whereby the firearm is converted from one with a detachable magazine into one with a fixed magazine. The device is comprised of an upper tension bar and a magazine catch bar whereby the upper tension bar holds the magazine firmly within the magazine well receiver when the upper tension bar is contacting the upper receiver. When the upper receiver and lower receiver of the firearm are in an open position, the upper tension bar freely moves inward toward the firearm, allowing the magazine catch bar to remove from the magazine well receiver. A user may then remove the magazine from the magazine well receiver and replace it with a new magazine. The user must reattach the upper receiver to the lower receiver before utilizing the firearm.

Abstract: New handgun configurations are enabled by a multiple cartridge magazine that includes the firing chamber for each cartridge. The magazine is indexed mechanically through the stock, with full index on trigger pull or full index on trigger release or part of the index period on trigger release and the remainder on trigger pull, thus aligning each successive cartridge with the barrel for firing. A sliding trigger mechanism with an index finger pull portion actuates both the magazine indexing and the firing mechanism. The firing mechanism employs a trigger actuated spring-loaded hammer with a wedge portion, which impacts a corresponding wedge shaped anvil which may contain an eccentric adjustable firing pin for firing center fire or rim fire cartridges.

Abstract: A lever protects against inadvertent release of a magazine of a firearm if its ambidextrous release is hit by equipment when the firearm is carried. The lever is made from a projection, above the pivot point, having two opposing angles forward of the depression surface. The projection impacts the equipment before the depression surface is impacted (straight-on impact), which protects the assembly from inadvertent release of the magazine. An impact to the rear angle of the projection (a rear impact) increases the engagement of the lever with the magazine. An impact along the forward angle (from the front or straight-on) of the projection also serves to increase engagement of the lever with the magazine. The lever, with its projection having opposing angles, is specifically designed to protect the lever of an ambidextrous magazine catch from inadvertent release by impact/snag in the field.

Abstract: A handy time-saving finger-tip device facilitating more convenient release of an magazine-clip from a gun such as an AR-15 rifle, some of which magazine/release-buttons are configured with a statute-mandated recessed sub-button therein, heretofore requiring dexterous insertion of a separate pocket-carried cylindrical probe-tool. The notion hereof being to supplement actuation of the present awkwardly operating release-button, with a more convenient and reliable release device referred to as the MagMagnet™, which I set forth herein in two iterations. The first embodiment preferably being an index-finger stall adapted with an insertion-pin; while my second embodiment is a self-retaining version, which attaches directly into the existing magazine/release sub-button instead of being retained upon the shooter's index-finger.

The receiver defines a second bore extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and in fluid communication with the first bore. The receiver also defines an ejection port transverse to the longitudinal axis. The firearm further includes a bolt carrier disposed in the second bore and movable relative to the receiver along the longitudinal axis between a firing position and a rearward position. The firearm also includes an expulsion device at least partially disposed in the buttstock for flowing air through the first and second bores and out the ejection port as the bolt carrier moves between the firing and rearward positions.

Abstract: The invention relates to improvements in the design and operating mechanisms in a KRISS-type firearm, or a firearm employing a mobile mass. In one aspect, the invention is an improved cocking lever assembly comprising a main pin provided with a tenon (9) at one end (E), with a supporting compression spring (5), a cocking button (3), and a retention means (4), attached to a mobile mass (1). This assembly allows direct activation of the mobile mass (1) by the action of the operator's force on the cocking lever. Advantageously, this cocking lever assembly can be mounted indiscriminately on the right or the left of the mobile mass (1) and therefore of the firearm, according to the user's preference. This cocking lever assembly combines certain safety criteria with the option of ambidextrous use often preferred in modern firearms.
