Patent number: 4862622Abstract: A speed-loading mechanism for securing and releasing cartridges into a multiple chamber cylinder of a firearm comprises a plurality of links pivotally connected together. The device comprises a plurality of substantially identical intermediate links and a master link and an end link establishing opposite ends of the device. Each intermediate link has first and second disk-like portions. The first disk portion of one link is juxtaposed beneath and rotatably connected to the second disk-like portion of an adjacent link. A flat coil spring sandwiched between the juxtaposed first and second disk portions biasing the link series into a circular configuration matching the revolver chamber pattern to enable simultaneous insertion of the cartridges into the cylinder chambers.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1988Date of Patent: September 5, 1989Inventor: Angel G. Goyanes

Patent number: 4796371Abstract: The cartridge loader comprises a body formed symmetrically about a central, upright axis and is provided with a number (here six) of vertical flutes opening radially outwardly of the holder and extending from top to bottom of the holder. The flutes are on parallel axes equi-angularly spaced about the central axis and each is configured to receive a cartridge, rim-up, and in such fashion that only a relatively minor portion of the cartridge rim rests on the holder top. A plurality of spring-biased fingers, equal in number and spacing to the flutes, engage and retain the cartridges in the flutes. A downwardly movable plunger is actuated to move the fingers radially outwardly in unison to release the cartridges into the cylinder of a revolver.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1988Date of Patent: January 10, 1989Inventor: Gary J. Daniels

Patent number: 4771561Abstract: A revolver uses removable cylinders for fast reloading and has cylinder fastening elements which permit reloading of the revolver only when a revolver hammer is in an uncocked position. The revolver cylinders have, in their rear ends, cartridge holding elements which prevent cartridges from falling out of the cylinders when the cylinders are outside of the revolver frame.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1987Date of Patent: September 20, 1988Inventor: Shimon Waiser

Patent number: 4697369Abstract: The present invention relates to a cartridge speed loader for facilitating the loading of a gun under adverse lighting conditions. The speed loader includes a light source, preferably a light emitting diode, disposed on the bottom face of the speed loader cartridge housing to illuminate a cylinder of a gun into which cartridges are to be inserted.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1986Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Inventor: Ronald K. Spears

Patent number: 4614053Abstract: A loading mechanism for securing, storing and releasing rimmed or rimless cartridges into a multiple chamber firearm such as a revolver. This loader consists of a series of links each of which is shaped and proportioned so as to secure a cartridge by clipping around a partial circumference at its base. These links are joined together to provide the proper number of cartridges for a specific firearm. Once secured in the loader, the cartridges may be stored or transported in either a flat or rolled position. When rolled the cartridge links clip together at the open ends such that the axial centerlines of the cartridges correspond in radius to the centerlines of the chambers in the revolver's cylinder. Thus rolled, the cartridges may be simultaneously inserted into their respective chambers in the cylinder and the links may be pulled away to release the cartridges into the chambers, thus rapidly loading the firearm.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1984Date of Patent: September 30, 1986Inventor: Joe L. Billman

Patent number: RE34258Abstract: A magazine for accommodating propellant charges in the form of a thin metal disk. The disk is of circular form and is provided with a plurality of spaced orifices located adjacent the periphery of the disk for retaining the propellant charges. A reinforcement is provided on the disk to prevent the creation of disruptive vibrations that might cause sympathetic firing of charges. The reinforcement is in the form of an undulation which in one form creates an annular groove on one side of the disk and a circular rib on the other side of the disk; and in another form comprises a series of radially extending ribs of like configuration.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1992Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Inventor: Harry M. Haytayan
