  • Patent number: 4129230
Abstract: A self-enclosed tablet dispenser for dispensing tablets into liquid-filled containers, such as swimming pools, including a first tube to hold the tablets, a base connected to the first tube with a horizontal passageway in which a plunger slidably reciprocates to move the tablet from the bottom of the first tube at one end of the passageway to the other end of the passageway, and a second tube connected to the base at the other end of the passageway to guide the tablet into the liquid by gravity means. The second tube may be open-ended on the bottom, or it may be closed so as to hold the tablets while allowing the liquid to enter and thus dissolve the tablets.

  • Patent number: 4123228
Abstract: A filter for liquids and particularly coffee comprises a container having a planar horizontal base formed with at least one filtrate drainage opening, and on its inner face formed with a plurality of radial ribs and a central support member which together support a generally planar filter element of thin sheet material in spaced parallel relationship to the base. In use the arrangement produces a toroidal circulation of liquid which prevents compaction of the filter cake and reduces clogging of the filter element.

  • Patent number: 4119019
Abstract: A funnel-shaped receptacle is temporarily positioned on the top of a coffee-making machine with its bottom outlet positioned to discharge into the heater tank of the machine. The interior of the receptacle is spanned by a disposable activated carbon filter and below the filter is a container of screen material filled with soluble phosphate granules. Replenishing water poured through the receptacle is first purified by the filter and is then treated with the dissolved phosphate to prevent calcium formation and corrosion in the heater tank.
