A draw-off is provided for each tray having catalyst supported thereon whereby liquid containing the suspended or slurried catalyst can be removed to a separator during operation. The catalyst is separated, as in a settling tank separator, from the liquid recycled to the tray until all the catalyst has been removed. The separated catalyst is removed for either regeneration or discarding. Fresh catalyst can then be added to the separator where it is slurried into the liquid again being recirculated from the tray.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for dispensing detergent into a washing machine. A container of particulate detergent includes a multilayer cover over the container mouth, the outer layer of which is removable to expose an inner layer of wire mesh. The relationship of the mesh size to the particulate detergent as one which prohibits passage of the detergent until dissolved at least partially by water. The receptacle is configured to receive and support the container above the inlet to the washing machine. The water sources provided within the receptacle to spray water and control the amounts through the wire mesh to dissolve the detergent. Once dissolved, the detergent can flow through the mesh and to the inlet of the washing machine.

Abstract: This invention is directed to an enamel paint receptive flexible laminate and its method of manufacture. The laminate is useful for making banners, flags, signs and the like that are decorated with enamel poster paints. The laminates of the present invention comprise a base fabric material, a first film coating of a plasticized polyvinyl chloride and a second coating of thermosetting vinyl acrylic copolymer. The thermosetting vinyl acrylic copolymer promotes increased adhesion and decreased drying time of poster paints and lettering enamel when they are applied to the coating.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method to obtain a suspension and/or a solution of limestone powder in water. The limestone powder is placed on a grating (7) of such a mesh size that only a negligible quantity of the powder by itself passes through the grating (7) of such a mesh size that only a negligible quantity of the powder by itself passes through the grating (7). The grating is sprayed from underneath with water from several nozzles (10) so positioned that the main part of the surface of the grating (7) is sprayed. At least a part of the water passes by this through the grating (7), loosens and/or dissolves the powdered limestone and carries this with it when the water runs back through the grating (7). The water and the suspended and/or dissolved limestone powder in it are collected under the grating (7). The apparatus is also equipped with a vibrating device and has a sedimentation container in the lower portion of the container.
