Because montan wax derivatives are obtained via natural resources (lignite wax), the quality of the derivatives is often inconsistent and unreliable. There is therefore a need for a more reliable alternative. The present inventors have discovered that certain esterified oligomeric polyhydric alcohols, offer an effective, efficient and reliable alternative to montan wax derivatives as structuring agents.
