  • Publication number: 20110142892
Abstract: This invention relates to methods and kits for selectively depositing a treatment agent on hair without depositing the treatment agent on the skin. The method involves sequentially treating the hair with a cationic compound selected from cationic peptides, cationic proteins, cationic polymers, cationic dyes, cationic pigments, or mixtures of these. in a composition with a pH from about 3 to about 6, followed by treatment with an anionic treatment compound selected from anionic particles, polymers, proteins, peptides, dyes, or mixtures of these in a composition with a pH of from about 5.5 to about 12. By this method, the treatment agent becomes deposited on the hair; however, any skin that is also contacted by the treatment compositions remains substantially untreated.
