Abstract: Binding molecules, such as human monoclonal antibodies, that bind to influenza virus comprising HA of the H3 subtype, such as H3N2, and have a broad neutralizing activity against such influenza virus. Provided are nucleic acid molecules encoding the antibodies, their sequences and compositions comprising the antibodies and methods of identifying or producing the antibodies. The antibodies can be used in the diagnosis, prophylaxis and/or treatment of an influenza virus H3N2 infection. The antibodies may provide cross-subtype protection, such that infections with H3, H7, and/or H10-based influenza subtypes can be prevented and/or treated.

Abstract: The objects of this invention are to prevent or ameliorate hypertension to improve physical constitution and finally to provide feeds, drinks, foods, health food supplements and pharmaceuticals which may be led to the prophylaxis or amelioration of life style related diseases. A high molecular weight glycoprotein antigen isolated from C. parvum, capable of binding the mAb 3E2, was shown to harbor an epitope critical for triggering the neutralizing CSP-like reaction in the parasite. Antibodies targeted against the critical epitope were shown to possess neutralizing activity, and could be combined with other anti-C. parvum monoclonal antibodies and administered to an animal to confer passive immunity. Immunogenic compositions including the purified antigen are disclosed for use in stimulating an active immune response against C. parvum.

Abstract: Compositions and methods of using conjugated linoleic acid preparations enriched for the t10,c12 and c9,t11 isomers are disclosed. It is found that preparations of conjugated linoleic acid containing a ratio of t10,c12 to c9,t11 of about greater than 1.2:1 are desirable for a wide variety of nutritional, therapeutic and pharmacologic uses.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing a C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 fatty acid alkaline earth metal salt product which is essentially free of C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 fatty acid or C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 fatty acid glyceride. The glyceride content of C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 fatty acid starting material is hydrolyzed with a water-soluble basic compound such as sodium carbonate in the first step of the process. The C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 fatty acid salt aqueous dispersion formed in the first step is converted to an alkaline earth metal salt in a subsequent process step. A biologically active constituent such as methionine hydroxy analog can be incorporated as an additional ingredient during the processing.
