Patent number: 4539168Abstract: In order to remove a thin-walled wax model adhering to the walls of a first core piece and a second core piece, after solidifying, from a multi-part device for making thin-walled wax models, without damaging the wax model, after the external pressure is released, a mold-opening moment is generated simultaneously and abruptly in axially opposite directions by spring-loaded push-off bolts or directly by leaf springs in the upper parting faces and lower parting faces of the device. As a result, both the lower closing plate and the upper closing plate are separated from the annular casing and the wax model is separated from the core pieces, by a maximum of 3 mm, axially in opposite directions because the adhesion of the wax model to the walls of the core arrangements is overcome simultaneously and abruptly. Subsequently the two core arrangements and the casing are transported away from one another in an axial direction relative to one another, so that the wax model is freed.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1982Date of Patent: September 3, 1985Assignee: BBC Brown, Boveri & Company, LimitedInventors: Manfred Brugger, Peter Vogt

Patent number: 4065533Abstract: A process for the continuous production of silicon rods or tubes by the dsition of silicon from the gaseous phase on the inner wall of a carrier tube heated to the deposition temperature, in which a cooled, hollow metal cylinder is placed in a reactor having one open end, and a flexible band, substantially resistant to silicon at the deposition temperature, is continuously wound onto the cylinder in an overlapping manner at an angle of pitch from 5.degree. to 40.degree. so as to form the carrier tube for the silicon to be deposited; the tube is continuously drawn off the metal cylinder by a rotary traction movement and the portion of the tube adjacent the metal cylinder and still in the reactor is heated to the deposition temperature of about 1050.degree. to 1250.degree. C, while at the same time the gaseous mixture is passed for decomposition through the tube under a pressure exceeding the external atmospheric pressure by 0.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1977Date of Patent: December 27, 1977Assignee: Wacker-Chemitronic Gesellschaft fur Elektronik Grundstoffe mbHInventors: Franz Koppl, Rudolf Griesshammer, Helmut Hamster

Patent number: 3988092Abstract: A plurality of groups of mandrels are arranged for movement successively through a plurality of workstations with each group being worked on at a station while other groups are being worked on simultaneously at other stations to produce continuously automatically groups of retractile cords. Cordage is fed from a supply into clamping engagement with each of the mandrels in the group in a cord-loading position and then wound in a plurality of spaced-apart convolutions on each of the mandrels of that group after which the wound cords are severed from the cordage supplies. The wound cords are advanced incrementally through a heating zone, wherein the cords are exposed to radiant heating supplemented by preheating of the mandrels while cordage is being wound on the next successive groups of mandrels.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1975Date of Patent: October 26, 1976Assignee: Western Electric Company, Inc.Inventors: Gordon Foreman Bloxham, Claude Paren Brezeale, Eugene Raymond Cocco, Edwin Charles Hardesty, Byron Lee Small, Daniel Marion Steinert
