  • Patent number: 4824628
Abstract: A method of making epoxy molds for making wax patterns have metal posts disposed therein which transfer compressive forces between the force applying members of the press in which the molds are located. The metal cylinders in the upper mold section have right hand screw threaded axial bores and the metal cylinders in the lower mold section have left hand screw threaded axial bores. The metal cylinders are connected together when the mold sections are poured by connecting studs which have oppositely threaded ends. After the epoxy cures, screw drivers are inserted into the threaded bores from outside the molds and the connecting studs are turned in a direction which causes the mold sections to separate in turnbuckle fashion. Accurate alignment of the inner end faces of the cylinders in the parting surfaces of the mold sections is achieved by having the metal posts connected during the mold pouring steps.

  • Patent number: 4639345
Abstract: A dry wall interlocking building block system includes a method of manufacturing moulds for casting building blocks, in which master forms corresponding in shape and size to the required blocks are cast from a cold-pouring compound in collapsible core-boxes, and in which a mould is built up around the master forms (7) by securing the forms to a casting table (8), placing metal liner plates (9) against the sides of the forms, filling the spaces around the liner plates with a similar cold-pouring compound, allowing the compound to set, and withdrawing the forms to leave a plurality of mould cavities. The mould can then be mounted in a block making machine for large scale casting of concrete blocks in the mould cavities. One feature of the preferred mould is that the liner plates are detachable, countersunk bolts (10) having been fitted in holes in the liner plates (9) prior to filling the spaces around the plates. The invention also includes a two-recess building block cast in the above mould.

  • Patent number: 4436511
Abstract: A dental press or jig for rigidly positioning during a short curing period, a matching pair of dentures held in occlusal alignment with one or both having a contacting layer of relining material pressed against a respective model of the patient's mouth, all clamped together by the press within a body of plaster of Paris. The laterally-open press is formed of a pair of annular plates or disks, vertically spaced apart a constant distance by three, upstanding, peripheral posts which are thus tensioned against opposite faces of the composite workpiece. Each plate is formed with plaster escape-channels leading to catch basins on the outer faces, the basins being defined by a reinforcing pattern of diametric ribs within a peripheral rim which render the plates unbendable under pressure. The assembly may be molded of glass-reinforced terephthalate resin for high tensile and flex resistant properties.
