With Means To Retard Or Stop Moving Element (e.g., Brake, Etc.) Patents (Class 425/214)
  • Patent number: 4479644
Abstract: This relates to a label applicator for applying labels to mold cavities of rotating mold units. The label applicator is fixed relative to moving mold units and includes an extensible fluid motor which carries a pick-up head or suction head for moving the suction head in a straight line direction and return. The extensible fluid motor is carried by a shaft for oscillation between a label pick-up position and a label deposit position. The extensible fluid motor is carried by a bracket which, in turn, is carried by a shaft of a rotary actuator which is constructed to oscillate between two fixed positions which are spaced apart a preselected angular distance. There is incorporated with the rotary actuator a decelerator for rapidly, yet smoothly, decelerating rotation of the bracket carrying the extensible fluid motor. Suitable sensor means are provided for timing the actuation of the label applicator in accordance with the position of a mold cavity into which a label is to be placed.

  • Patent number: 4435143
Abstract: A press includes a frame, a flywheel, a motor for driving the flywheel, and a shaft. A clutch is provided which is actuable for engaging the shaft to the flywheel. An eccentric is journaled upon the shaft and rotates therewith. The eccentric rotates in a block which is slidably mounted in a head to permit the block to move laterally within the head. The head is vertically movable in response to vertical movements of the block. The press also includes an upper die which is mounted on the head and a lower die which is resiliently supported upwardly on a base. Movement of the head engages and disengages the upper die and lower die.

  • Patent number: 4370119
Abstract: A powder press has a fixed plate secured to a frame and having mounted thereon stops which are adjustably movable up and down. The stops are in abutting contact with rotatable stop rods which are threadedly mounted to an intermediate plate carrying a floating punch and which receives downward thrust during the process of compaction. The stop rods are locked against rotation by locking members during compaction and released therefrom upon descent of ejector rods which press down the intermediate plate and a die plate at the time of the ejection of the compact. The released stop rods rotate about their own axes to permit the descent of the intermediate plate. The abutting stop rods and stops make no large space requirement, and their rigidity is high.

  • Patent number: 4197075
Abstract: An apparatus for molding and stretching at high speed an attachment device integrally composed of a synthetic resin and comprising a head, a cross-bar and a filament integrally connecting the head and the cross-bar to each other is disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of a fixed frame, two movable frame portions, four mold members, two cam rod members, and a cam shaft. The two movable frame members are movably connected to the fixed frame. The four mold members are positioned on the two movable frame members, the mold members being movable relative to one another. The two cam rod members are secured to the fixed frame, and the cam shaft member is mounted on one of the mold members. When the movable frame members are moved relative to the fixed frame, they cause the cam shaft to move along one of the cam rod members, thus causing two of the mold members to be pulled away from the remaining two mold members, thereby stretching the filament connecting portion of the attachment device.

  • Patent number: 4080129
Abstract: For casting large concrete articles, a wheel-mounted main frame supports a mould assembly which can be rotated about a horizontal axis, and also raised and lowered. This assembly has two main mould sections oppositely arranged so that when one faces upwards the other faces downwards. A removable mould section fitted to each main mould section forms a complete mould capable, when uppermost, of receiving concrete to be cast. The mould assembly may then be inverted and lowered to a support, and the removable mould section disconnected to serve as a pallet for the cast article. The mould assembly may be raised, concrete may be cast in the other mould, which is uppermost, and the main frame may be moved clear of the deposited cast article.
