    Abstract: A coated cutting tool including a substrate and a single layer or multi-layer hard material coating is provided. The substrate is selected from cemented carbide, cermet, ceramics, cubic boron nitride (cBN), polycrystalline diamond, steel or high-speed steel. The hard material coating includes at least one layer of gamma-Al2O3, exhibiting particularly high hardness and reduced Young's modulus. The gamma-Al2O3 layer of the coated cutting tool is obtainable by means of a reactive magnetron sputtering process using at least one Al target, wherein the deposition is carried out using a reaction gas composition of argon (Ar) and oxygen (O2) at a total reaction gas pressure within the range from at least 1 Pa to at most 5 Pa, at an O2 partial pressure within the range from 0.001 Pa to 0.1 Pa, and at a temperature within the range from 400° C. to 600° C.

Both side edges of the TAC films are slit with cutters of an edge slitting device. The slit side edges are sent to a cutter blower. In the cutter blower, the slit side edges are cut into small pieces and sent to a crusher through a first pipe. Upon receiving a tape detection signal, a plate controller rotates a plate from a close position to an open position. When the plate is in the open position, the cut films are sent from the first pipe to a second pipe via an opening, and then to a receptacle.

A boring hole is used for injection of coloring liquid and decorative objects to be embedded in the frozen carvings. When the dies exit from the freezing mixture tank, they enter a temperature rising device to slightly raise their temperature to facilitate removal of the dies by means of hydraulic cylinder of the stripping device. Ice carvings are thus accomplished through automatic production.

    Abstract: Wafers are produced by guiding a sheet of bread having friable outer crusts and a relatively soft center through wafer forming apparatus. The apparatus includes a pair of rolls, one of said rolls, i.e., a cutting roll having one or more wafer forming recesses or cavities therein and the other roll being a pressure roll which operates in rolling engagement with the cutting roll. As the sheet of bread is introduced into the nip formed between the two rolls the pressure roll acts to press the bread into the cavity or cavities on the cutting roll and into engagement with the edges of the cavity or cavities to cut wafers from the sheet of bread. Each cavity is configured to have a bottom surface which rises as a gradually tapering wall to a cutting edge which is coterminious with the surface of the cutting roll.

An induction opening is formed in the induction conduit and a scrap feed nozzle is telescopically mounted in the induction opening and has its discharge movably supported in the Venturi throat. The scrap feed nozzle is adjustable with respect to the Venturi throat so as to adjust the system to the most energy efficient position for required operating conditions.

    Abstract: A nibbler for severing a heat softened plastic parison into small, readily re-used parison pieces or sections during molding machine downtimes. The nibbler has a pair of cooperating knives which move towards and away from each other and it is preferably permanently mounted to the molding machine. When the molding operation temporarily ceases, the nibbler is moved into registration with the parison and the latter is severed by the knives. The knives are positioned above a horizontal conveyor for the finish molded objects which transports them away from the machine. The severed parison sections are separated from the objects by passing both over openings which have a sufficient size so that the sections can drop therethrough while the finish formed objects pass thereover.
